"Should you have any questions, please contact me"

Dont Tell Anyone

"Should"???

Google told me "should" here means "in case"

it means "In case you have any questions, please contat me"

My question is:

can I say:
"Shall you have any questions, please contact me"?
or
"Would you have any questions, please contact me"?

if yes, is "Shall" more formal? nad "would" more polite???

help!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Big Grin

also, can i replace the word "have" with other words?

like:

Should Tom get a C in his math course, his father will kick his ass.

??

Re: "Should you have any questions, please contact me"

"Should" is the best word.

You can also say "Should there be any questions..."

Re: "Should you have any questions, please contact me"

^ correct.

"Should you have any questions..."
"If you have any questions...." (above is better, more polite)

Shall isn't so definite, it's possibility

"Shall we go to out to eat?"

Would...

"Would you mind if we don't?"

Re: "Should you have any questions, please contact me"

I'll add to that.

How to use the verb "bear" in imperative form? When I tell someone to bear the pain, for example, without using the verb "take"..

What's another way to say "Let's eat in the open air" (or fresh air). What is that word that uber intelligent people sometimes use, like "Have lunch a bonafide" or something.

bobby_liu, how do you say "I appreciate" (meaning, I value/thank you for..) in Chinese? For example: "I really appreciate you coming to our show."

Grin and bear it.

If I meet anyone that I'd characterize as "uber intelligent" I'll ask them. Until then, you could just say "let's have a picnic!"

Re: "Should you have any questions, please contact me"

lol, ok man.
Actually I've seen it in a pamphlet about Hong Kong, probably written by some British person. But it wasn't talking about a picnic but a restaurant with tables outside.

NO. You would never say "shall" or "would" in those sentences; it does not make sense.
It should be "should", or more informally, "If you have any questions..."

LOL, first of all, "Should Tom get a C in his math course..." is so formal that you would never hear it followed by, "...kick his ass.", lol... well, maybe in some parts. Personally if you're talking about ass-kickings I think you'd say, "If Tom gets a C..."
