Rourke is generally a no bs guy
His movie Wrestler was about fake wrestling
He set the punch up in genuine boxing stlye, an effective jab to the chin then two body shots
It was bare knuckle

I had heard somewhere that he was a pro boxer for a while.
Not sure about that knockout, but I certainly wouldn't question him face to face about it.
Seems like a 'hold your fookin' tongue and I'll hold my temper' kind of guy.
A strange fit him sitting there at the Oscars surrounded by so many BS type people. He looked uncomfortable at having to sit through the whole thing, and a little out of place, struggling to smile at the jokes.

I recommend this if you're a wrestling fan, or body building or meat head fan. Or other even. It's a doco about steriods that come out just late last year. Wrestling is quite prominent in it and one of the characters (real)... hmmmmm... I won't spoil it just now.

Ya, I am a huge Mickey Rourke fan (9 1/2 weeks with Kim Basinger, Barfly, The Wrestler, Sin City) and it seems this will bring him back to his old stardom, if not greater...if it is accepted as genuine.
It happened two days ago.
Jericho had called out Mickey on Larry King on CNN about a month ago.
I am saying it was real. It looked like a nice temple left hook to me, the sort you would see at UFC, the head snapped back.
At least he has the balls, truth and passion of a male star.
Maybe his return will spark a revolution against "plastic stars".

It's not like the guy can't act, and he's one of the few who can walk the walk.
I want to see him face off with someone like Ben Asslick, or Leo de Craprio, and watch the him smash their plastic faces off. That's something I would pay to watch at the cinema.
I do like a good romantic comedy at times though too.

Hmmm, ya, I hate to admit Mickey would do it...but who get's knocked out in front of thousands and winces in pain and holds their heads?
Never seen in UFC or rarely.
But then it may be that pussy fake wrestler would never even last a few seconds in UFC, whereas Mickey would probably go all in and never submit until his brains were splattered on the cage.

That said (I used to follow "professional" wrestling when I was a kid) the "wrestlers" are pretty tough and do take quite a bit of physical punishment in the ring and during the backstage antics with chairs and plywood being smashed over their head and stuff.
My opinion, though, is that even if the punch was real and landed that Jericho knew it was coming.
