"approved to 30th september" that means if you need to conver your L visa to a F visa now, you can only get a F visa that valid till 30th September 2009, before for some countries they have a option for 12 months, now only for 6 months with 2 entries. F visa extension is the same case that only can be extend to 30th September 2009, according to the new policy.

The information from the goverment and very reliable.

fool...u just wanna give the impression that u are a legit visa agent...mean while u stole my passport and my 3000rmb.

Will people be able to extend visas after September 30th, 2009?

Why not just say that 12 year F visas aren't going to be given anymore? That basically all that's happening isn't it?

I wouldn't trust such info coming from someone who's got email address and phone number at the bottom of each post. Well, that's just me... .

I just called Traders Link and they told that yesterday at noon the official immigration department papers was released saying "starting now no F visa extensions beyond Sep 30"...and only 1 or 2 entries available. Also no info about what will happen in October.

This is maybe because of the Big celebrations of Oct 1st and all the trouble makers should be out of the country by then........
Also next year is Shanghai World Expo and they are going to impose the Olympic Visa rules 2010 in effect.. in order to protect Shanghai World Expo that will try to outbeat Beijing Olympics!!!!!1

So can you convert L to F visa in any month up to September and is it only valid until September 30th?
Maybe they discovered the high fees for converting to F is not a big enough deterrent to stopping foriegners staying in their controlled country.

Now, you only can convert your L visa to F visa for 6 month (acctually only upto 30th September)with 2 entries.

Probably the same as after July 30th, 2008? I remember they announced they'd only be giving out F visas until that date beginning of last year.

After 30th September, option 1, you have to leave China and re-apply for a visa from outside (it may be tough either around China National Day period); option 2, you can convert your current visa into a work visa.

Bad news again , all just extend to 15th Sep. there was a meeting in immgration office at noon today ,and the date was setted again .

Do you know something about 1st Oct , this day is a big day that is foudation of china for 60 years . may be the policy is related to it . i think .

What is the meaning of "Validity" here? Usually a Chinese visa has an "Enter Before"-date which defines the last possible entry date. The validity is not a concrete date, it just defines the time span between day of issuance of the visa and the "Enter Before"-date.
So what may for example happen if somebody gets a 6 months F-visa with 2 entries and 90 days per stay on the 1st of May...? The "Enter Before" would usually be set to the 1st of Nov. Will they adjust this to the 15th Sep instead...? But then the visa holder could make his 2nd entry on 1st of August for instance and stay 90 days from then on until the end of October, obviously beyond the "deadline" 15th Sep.
I might be totally wrong, just curious about it...

Validity gives you a time frame of entering China. You have to get into China within this time frame.

6 months is how long you can stay in China. Within the 6 months you can exit/enter China twice is the 2 entries.

If your current visa has covered over the 15th September, then you don't need to worry about it. The new policy only apply for people whose current visa need to be extended now or before 15th September.
