This is America

I want squidto tell me where you can do this in China. This is an example of what to do when you disagree with the government or its agencies. You don't hide in another country and complain about things you are unwilling to work to change.

Whether you agree with this thing or not it is just one example of what a great country the United States is.

You cannot use that example in the same context as what I have presented here. Those protests were about oppression and equality. That was about how the misery of one group of people was being used to promote the welfare of another group of people. The American protest are the people raising their voices to express dissatisfaction over government actions. They are two distinctly different and unrelated incidences.

In case any of you are not familiar with what the poster is talking about you can find an article about it here.

Re: This is America

Protesting is collective bitching. What they need to do is stop being bitches in the first place. America needs to get out of her foreign entanglements and deal with her filthy government. By that I mean take it down.

I'm serious. I'll join a goddamn militia, left or right, makes no difference at this point. Obushma and the heap of lies repression and blood he rules atop needs to come down, all of it.

And what do I think about China? China is for the Chinese to deal with, Mandate of Heaven and all that.

The US has UNBLESSED itself, and deservedly so.

We're fighting all the wrong wars.

We need to fight the one at home if we ever expect to shine again.

Oh come on Twatto, let's go back to the United States and start a militia. Not only will it be invigorating, we also get to die.

Good point. Maybe, I'm just getting antsy is all.

Some crazy obsession with violence, I should just focus on LOST.

If I could do some kind of remote control random violence where I don't have to leave the couch, I might be up for that at some point.

See nobody can past their unwarranted optimism. It's *all* going to Hell and FAST. So I mean at this point, it's kinda dumb to *not* buy up as many firearms as possible while the second ammendment still exists.

Re: This is America

This is the sum total of my revolutionary agenda:

1. The US public should have greater control over decisions regarding key issues like war. Congress and the President should be reduced to advisory bodies and everyone over 18 should be able to vote from their home. Vote fraud and tampering with the voting process would be a capital crime.

Voters don't stop voting because they don't care, they've seen over and over that caring hasn't made any difference.

FREE AMERICA

DIRECT DEMOCRACY

2. Voters should be able to pink slip anyone they've elected office, with or without notice, upon an 80% vote for dismissal.

A Vote of Confidence Amendment (VOCA) will give American voters the power to dismiss any elected official at any time.

Until a Vote of Confidence Amendment is passed, there should be a series of general strikes and universal civil disobedience.

Re: This is America

That's a nice notion. If public support swells enough you'll get a castrated version of it that keeps the power elite at reigns. And then the public will fall for the next dog and pony show hook line and sinker ad nauseum, while the wars and worldwide repression continue right on course.

We need to pay for our sins before we go inflicting "justice" on any other part of the world. And in case of ya'll fell for the Obama hoax, his insistnece on exhonorating the previous administration's TORTURE program should give you another clue-in that they're all on the same side. You see, it's totally forgivable when *we* do it.

President Obama said: "This is a time for reflection, not retribution. ... nothing will be gained by spending our time and energy laying blame for the past."

That's great. I guess nobody should be prosecuted for anything ever.

f*** you Obama, you lying weasel. Die.

Re: This is America

This is what's great about America? That conservative Republicans can decide that they don't feel like supporting their government, and the collective welfare of the entire society.

These people out there protesting are the same segment society of that had no problem spending trillions to destroy and then fail to rebuild Iraq, that wants tax cuts for the very rich, that wants to be able to buy cheap cigarettes and alcohol, regardless of the effect on the public health of the country, and the medical system, but is opposed to a national health care policy. The same segment that brought down our economy by their greed and outrageous bonuses on Wall street, are now protesting that the Obama administration wants to spend money on America for Americans.

Yea, what a great f-ing country Zhenlai. You should go back their and not pay your taxes too like the rest of the good Americans.

Thank you very much I do pay taxes in the United States and I pay my fair share and I don't mind. When you tell me where you are so I can get you some help I will even go as far as to show you my tax returns for this year.

No. If Obama wanted to help Americans he would have given their own tax monies back to *them*, not the gigantic financial vortexes that sucked us into this recession in the first place.

Nice.

ANARCHY!

f*** America and all governments.

I mean, come on guys, who are these horrible people in charge?

People who send thousands to their deaths for greed or religion!

Every government and every politician are lying sacks of sh*t. If you stand behind any flag or government, you are a fool.

This is 2009. We are all human beings. the land and earth and sky and sea belong to everyone.

It's absolutely crazy and barbaric that people are still saying "This is international waters, this is our waters, this is our airspace, our land.."

To me, it's all sick. f*** America, f*** every stupid primitive government and all politicians.

Why do people need flags and governments? Because people are just sick!

f*** government and f*** religion!

If I go out and kill someone in my own country, I'm a murderer.

If I kill a foreign soldier in his own country, I'm a hero.

If a foreign soldier kills me in his own country, he is an insurgent.

If a soldier that is supported by America kills one of his own countrymen in a civil war, he is a freedom fighter, but that same dude is a labeled a terrorist if not supported by America.

It's not just stupid, its f-ing sick.

I liked living in America, but I wouldnt be going around bragging about what a great country it is as long as it's still the number one producer and distributor of weapons of mass destruction. I wouldnt be too proud when kids are getting shot at school or church every other day and when the greed and carelessness of the typical American put the whole world's economy in the toilet.

You got a lot of balls to be saying how great America is.

Hey man, America is better than lots of places, but if you think it is good, you are sick.

America needs a new revolution

and close with Revolution: a change of order

So what exactly do you want?

Very specific about what you don't like, but very vague about how you would improve it. Maybe you should think it through some more.

Any suggestions? Pol Pot had the same idea and goal. What is your idyllic 'home' (that's basically what a nation is to its inhabitants) that you're going to build? And how would you build it?

Re: This is America

Where is the coward zhenlai? I would like to hear him defend his "Don't pay your taxes because the money is wasted" philosophy.

These self serving conservative a-holes marching on the street are simply using this to find something to blame Obama for, when it is was them who supported the previous administrations out of control nation destroying spending (well at least they did manage to kill two birds with one stone even if the birds were minding their own business) while giving tax cuts to the rich. Typical American hypocrites, of which zhenlai is just one of many.

The people in this rally are actually complaining about not being able to buy cheap enough cigarttes and alcohol. And they are calling Obama Hitler. This is whats great about America-Sean Hannity!

God what a pack of idiots. And zhenlai uses this as proof of its greatness. Great, really great.

Re: This is America

squid wrote:

I do not support not paying taxes, however I do support raising your voice to any and all objections that you have to the government. These people are doing something constructive about what they object to. I admire this very much even if I do not agree with everything they are suggesting. I believe in paying my taxes and do so every year without regret. I am a citizen of the finest country known to man and I feel good about giving tax money to a country that takes care of it's citizens. I pay taxes in two countries and I feel it is my duty and obligation to both of them to pay.

That being said I don't agree with all the bailout money that is being spent. I would rather the bad business fail so that new and energized business can take their place. I don't believe in throwing good money after bad money. But, the government has made their decision and I am full of hope that their actions will succeed. If they don't the American People will do something about it. They are doing much more there than you are here so you are the one who is shirking your responsibility by harping from here and not taking your place in the protest line there.
