Make appointment. Put 1000 RMB in red envelope. Discreetly pass to examiner. Done.

Get the driver's license study book.
Ignore the incomprehensible English parts.
Ignore the times when 1 question contradicts the other.
CRAMCRAMCRAM for 2 days.
Go down and take the test. You'll probably pass.
Done deal.

Oh yeah, you need to get a bunch of forms together, too. Sorry I don't know about that...my business did all that for me.

Honestly, it wasn't that hard. The key is to really cram and memorize that book, just long enough to spit it back. I spent 3 days reading it every spare minute and that was it and got 95/100.

If you don't have your old license, you will require both the written test and a road exam.

If you have your old license, bring it in and you will take just the written test.

Save yourself some time. Use one of the driving schools or Fesco to help you complete your forms and prepare the paperwork.

I got license here in Beijing. Without licence from my country.
Pain in the a$$ but its worth it.
