Data centers in China?

Hi,

Any one there working for China Telecom, China Unicom, China Mobile or any other company that offer data center services? Let's make friends and we can share some knowledge about these services.

Re: Data centers in China?

I know one MNC in Beijing which maintains a few data centres around China. PM me for details.

www.candisgroup.com

There is also KDDI which is at our standard but very $$. The rest (sans CNC Olympic IDC) are bottom feeding disaster area's of IDC's.... I wouldn't plug a toaster into some of them - let alone worrying if their "racks" come with enough amperage to run more than 6 or 7 servers. :-s

We host and run this site (The Beijinger) and you'll notice that you get great access from Big CNC, Little CNC, CT, Great Wall, Keji Wang and Jiao Yu Wang.... also run a CDN and utility computing services.

Re: Data centers in China?

I'll second Candis. I looked at a dozen or so "data centers" in Beijing and that was the only professionally run outfit of the lot.

Thanks V.

Unfortunately pound for pound in China - IDC' are more expensive than in the west. The cheaper ones are so shoddy it is not funny. Most people don't realise the real metrics to measure when reviewing IDC's or how to value a network and route. They think and are fooled by a clean floor and a fake pot plant in the foyer as a measure of attention to detail, quality and pre emptiveness (sp?).
