DJ Equipment

I am trying to find if there is a Chinese equivalent
of Pioneers CDJ 1000
Any help much appreciated

Re: DJ Equipment

you mean a chinese brand made player?

the horror, the pain, and the alphabet

Re: DJ Equipment

Yes Chinese brand hopefully they will be cheaper

Re: DJ Equipment

i doubt there is such a thing. it might be possible to get a bootleg. some of the pioneer mixers are no longer distributed by pioneer themselves but are still manufactured and can be found cheap if you are lucky or buy in bulk. they are technically the same thing but have no guarantee

have you checked taobao or ali baba.com? if its still a relatively new model then the chances of getting one of them 'bootleg' is unlikely i guess. pioneer is standard everywhere.

i think, more than likely if you want cheaper its best to try and get an unused in the box pair online. people buy equipment like toys and never use it. i cant imagine there being a chinese brand version and if there was it would probably suck anyway.

Re: DJ Equipment

Thanks
The problem is I am looking for multiple units
I found 1 company on Alibaba www.newstar.com but their equipment based on the Pioneer doesnt have the same specs
I was hoping really that someone had bought some Chinese DJ equipment and could point me in the right direction
I suspect you are right however and that it would suck anyway

It probably doesn't, Newstar.com is some kind of model agency.

With your CD players, better not to buy any of the non known stuff, the components and lasers are crap. If the CDJ-1000's are too pricey, go for a less expensive Pioneer model, most of the functions on the 1000's are rarely used anyway.

Here you go, it all works out cheaper than a single CDJ-1000 and you haven't had to risk cash on something that will probably be unusable after a few months.

CDJ100s....too simple...not enough functions....

I think the Op is looking for something a little less pricey, 2x1000's and a mixer is going to cost more than 2000 US.

Then again, depends what you want to do with them, if you want to play and mix music at home or parties, there's absolutely no limitation in the 100's functions.

Re: DJ Equipment

I actually got one of the nearstar mixers
see link http://www.nearstar.com.cn/en/detail.asp?newsid=191
but it cue system is not much good and you cant really adjust pitch
My friend in the U.K wants to use them to teach mixing (not convinced) I think the nearstar is ok but he is picky and doesnt want to spend the money so you gets what you pay for
Apologies for previous post linked you to a model agency

Can't blame him though, especially if its for quite heavy use, the faders will probably last 5 minutes. Pitch is usually adjusted on the player btw.
