Screw agencies, I just want to know where I can go to extend my tourist visa (police station, immigration, or even the PHYSICAL ADDRESS of an agency...no talking to salespitchers)
Where is the best place to go, QUICKLY my visa expires in 4 days

You can extend your visa at immigration office or at visa agent. Please prepare your residence registration, a passport photo and a Bank reference (USD3000) before you go to the immigration office. While you may feel not good if you extend your visa there. Visa office is more convenient, makes you feel good and are also able to extend your visa without those documents needed. But you need to pay some service fee to the visa agent.
Best regards,
Maggie

not giving people $3,000 to extend visa, but show this bank account proof, of course first of all you should open a chinese bank account, and then put that money in your account, after that, ask the bank clerk to provide you a proof proving you have an acount money of around 3,000 us dollar or 21000RMB in this account, nobody need that money, what PSB needs only a proving paper from chinese bank.
Do I need to open a banking account even if I just want to extend my tourist visa for 30 days?(I came from Thailand and want to extend it twice).
If so, does anyone know of a good and cheap agancy instead?
Thanks,
Ori
Check out Traders-link. They are reliable and charge fair prices based on friends' experiences.
The bank account statement didn't used to be mandatory but I know last summer it was mandatory. The amount should be 20,000 RMB and this is even over $3k; seems like Immigration doesn't know the exchange rate isn't 1:7.
i'm preparing to open that chinese bank account. but i still need to transfer the money from my account in germany which will certainly take two or three days.
i read that they need 5-7 days for that whole approval procedure.
would friday be already to late?
Open a chinese account n save $3,000 or 21,000rmb wont take long at all, you can get it straight away from the bank.
Once you submit your documents to PSB, your visa will be done in a week, which is 5 working days, as long as you submit ur passport b4fore your visa expire date, it will be fine.
thanks for your help!
everything went fine and friday i can pick up my passport with the new visa.
at the psb they told me that you could even hand in your passport on the last valid day of your visa.
Strangely, when I have extended or got another visa, applying in person, directly from the immigration office in Beijing, I have never been asked to supply any bank statement at all. However, could it be that my situation is a little different? Initially, I was on an ordinary visitor's visa, but I am married to a Chinese National, and later on, it was Residence Permits that were being renewed. What has changed within the last year, however, is that now my wife has to provide them with her hukou, which we didn't have to do before.
I got a problem with my 30 days tourist visa though and i hope, somebody can give me informations or an advice...
i studied for one semester at beijing language nd culture university and had a 180 days student visa.
but i wanted to stay two months longer because my girlfriend comes on 22 of february to shanghai and we want to travel for another month before we both go back to germany. so i went down to hong kong to get this visa but only got a 30 days visa.
but i needed 50 days. they told me in hong kong that i could extend it here in beijing and it wouldnt be a problem.
but now i read that i have to have 20000 rmb on a chinese bank account which kind of shocks me.
is there any way to go around that? I already have my flight ticket back, i got two adresses in china that i could stay at (friends houses). in addition i have hostel bookings for the four weeks and a complete schedule for every day of pur travels.
could i be able to go around that bank account-thing with these?
thanks a lot!
