Trumpet Lesson

I'd really like to learn the trumpet - anyone know how/ where and how much? Or anyone want to teach me??

Vicky

Re: Trumpet Lesson

You need to practice blowing really hard first.
Find something big to blow on.
Once you mastered that I'm sure they will be queuing up to help you.

Im a f-ing Idiot.

There's a few thing's you'll need, try and fine some "tune a day" instruction books, a mute (the thing you stuff in the end) and a decent mouthpiece. Vincent Bach are excellent and a 7c model isn't too tough on the mouth. Trumpet wise, if you've got the funds, Yamaha, Besson, Boosey and Hawkes or the big money Getzens.

Chinese brands aren't bad for learning on although I've found the valves get noisy after a bit.

Re: Trumpet Lesson

herbie! you a trumpet player?

vicky, if you serious about it, i know some teachers...
chinese and foreign guys.
although if youre really just beginning...
maybe not the right guys for you...

FYI you should never pay more then 300-400rmb a lesson,
especially since you are a beginner...maybe 200rmb...
also, try not to get a chinese teacher

chinese brass players suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck! even if you are not a professional and just wanna have fun with it.

let me repeat this. they f-ing suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck...

i have a brand new trumpet.
made in china.
prolly not bad for a beginner.
i could get rid of it for real cheap cuz i dont need it.
no mouthpiece though. but thats easy to arrange also...
any offer above 1000rmb is fine. (its brand new!)
i dont really care...

good advices from herbie though...
but seriously...bach trumpets!?!?!

come oooooooooon!

Smile

also, p.s. , herbie,

i need to get in touch with you again about those tapes being transfered on to some cd's. maybe this summer we find a time to meet?

ill pm you.

oh yeah? well, let me ask you this: shut up!

Re: Trumpet Lesson

Greets LK, sure.. I play trumpet but started on cornet(not the ice cream). Yeah I definitely rate Vincent Bach mouthpieces, probably because they are the only thing long enough to stop my nose hanging over the front of the instrument. They sell them in Beijing too!!

Of course pm any time chief! B)
