L Visa procedures in Hong Kong
I'm looking for some info in regard with arranging an L visa in Hong Kong.
1. How long does it take to do it? Is there a way to do it in 24 hours?
2. Should I do it through an agency? Any recommended one?
3. How much it should cost?
4. for how long does the visa valid? Any chance to get 1 month now?
5. Is it possible to extand it in China afterwords?
Thanks very much!

Hi, I don't know the answers for your question 1 to 3, but I know something about the questions 4 and 5.
Normally, you will get a L visa valid for 3 or 6 months with 30 days stay. The L visa can be extend in mainland China twice with each time for 1 month. Therefore, if you are holding a L visa, the maximum stay is about 3 month after your entry date.
Not sure how long do you plan to stay in China. If you will to stay more than 3 months, I suggest you to get a F visa insteat and you can extend it as many times as you need.

Re: L Visa procedures in Hong Kong
What's Tinamt said is right. You can get a L visa which valid for 90 days or more with 30 days stay in China. your L visa can be definitely extended after you've entried in China. However, it only can be extended for 2 times and each time would be authorized for 30 days which means totally for 90 days.
so the better choice maybe apply a F visa which can authorize you stay for longer time.

Re: L Visa procedures in Hong Kong
Thanks for your answers.
I would rather have an F visa as well, but as I know - It is only possible to have it now until September 15th and not longer.
Do you know how can I arrange an F visa in Hong Kong?
Thanks,
Emma

Re: L Visa procedures in Hong Kong
hmmm, you can get a business invitation letter first, then you go to the Chinese Consulate in Hongkong to apply a F visa with valid 90 days and for 30 days to stay in China, then come back mainland and do the extension.
hope that the advices can help you~~!
Best wishes!!

How do you extend it in China?

Re: L Visa procedures in Hong Kong
Hi petersblog, if you are asking about how I extend F visa, then please see my answers below.
In accordence of the China visa policy, a F visa holder can continually stay in mainland China for one year at maximum after the entry date. After one year, then you can extend it for another year. How to do it? For example, Mr. Lee has a F visa and his entry date is 1st Jan. 2009, then onve he entres China, he extends his visa to one year. So, his F visa will be expired on 31st Dec. 2009. After this date, he has to leave and re-entre China with a new F visa. However, if he leave and come back China within his F visa expiring date, for example, he flies to HK on 10th of Dec. and comes back on 20th Dec., then he will be extend his visa for another one year, as this trip has refreshed his F visa staying period limitation.

Re: L Visa procedures in Hong Kong
Can anybody confirm that it's even possible to get visas in HK any more for non Hong Kong resident card holders?
The Chinese Consulate page in HK merely says that foreign visitors are invited to contact the Chinese Embassy in their home country for visa issues.
Has anybody in the very recent past managed to get a visa in HK?
