Does anyone know whether Australian citizens (non-Hong Kong residents) are currently allowed to apply for tourist visas in Hong Kong? and what duration you can expect to get for a double-entry? e.g. 1 month, 3 months
Visa applicants are increasing in a large number and need longer waiting time in the visa office recently. If you don't reside or work in Hong Kong permanently, you are required to apply Chinese visa from the Embassy or Consulate-General of Peoples' Republic of China in your resident country.
But it seems if you are not a HK ID holder, you cannot apply for a multiple-entry visa. Instead, you can get 3-month valid, one or double-entry, with duration of 30 days for each stay visas.
I think 3 months means you have that much time to use the visa before it expires. But once you enter China, you have a 30 day stay.

I actually have to get my visa in HOng Kong soon and I didn't wanted to go there alone, I am not sure if you did your visa already, butlet me know, we could go together, I live in Beijing, you?

You can apply for a China visa (L, F or Z) in HK. The notice is outdated.
There is a notice as below.

Re: Applying for L visas in Hong Kong: Australians
that means I have to leave and re-enter China every 30 days, even though the visa duration is 3 months?
