Hey,

Studying in Beijing for a year and was wondering if there were any cosplay events or conventions that are around.

I'm a first time cosplayer - so my costumes would be pretty naff.

I live in Haidian district - anywhere that's nearish here?

The Cosplay scene freaks me out a bit.
I read there are Cosplay championships coming up in Japan.

Sometimes the same is different, but mostly, it's the same.
