ACLS is bankrupt?

A heads up to anyone who is considering ACLS as a language school. I was supposed to start classes on November 9 and here is an excerpt from an email I received from them a few days ago:

Quote:
To be honest right now we do not know how the school will be later on. The
school meets a crisis. He and the accountant cheated us for a long time.
We trust our boss and give him time to slove it, but unfortunately he
keeps breaking his promises and we can not foresee that the problems are
getting more and more serious. He owes rents to the landlords of campuses
and stopped paying our public insurance for a long time.

I'm going to follow up with them on Monday in person (if there office is even open anymore).

I'll post more info when I get it.

To confirm - ACLS has collapsed. Avoid ACLS and anything related to "Worldlink Education"

Re: ACLS is bankrupt?

Thanks rox-nix. Please keep posting any additional updates on the collapse. I have taken classes with acls at all 3 of its beijing campuses over the last three summers and was hoping to continue summer 2010, so this is sad news indeed. Last summer it definitely seemed as if something was going on - there were almost no electives or group trips offered, as opposed to the usual busy schedule of events. The soho campus seemed deserted, with very few students and almost no staff present.

Good riddance to bad rubbish. I used them a few years ago. There were teachers sleeping in class, complete inability to explain any sort of grammar or vocab definition and a staff that didn't give a sh*t about students. Well except for that Blonde French girl, I forget her name though.

I don't believe that! I am sure they liked their money.

Re: ACLS is bankrupt?

just running into this post, what a coincidence, we just had 3 students who studied at ACLS, they had to leave because of bankrupt, I think they paid whole semester, just took one month classes, they have't got their money yet, it looks like something not gonna happen, feel bad for people like those three.
it's important to choose a reliable school.

It's so pity that the school is bankrupt, and the teachers of this school are very good.

But if you want to learn mandarin, welcome to visit to have a look,we are also a very good mandarin school.

And our teachers' teaching style is also good for you to master, and we also have some teachers that have been teaching in ACLS before it is bankrupt.

Welcome to our school to learn chinese. Smile

HAHA, I used Worldlink in 2005 and the school was just starting up. It was ok, nothing to shout about but then when I returned in 2007 I was recommended to go else-where. I guess this is what happens when greed takes over!!

With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine.
