FF 14 Online coming soon... Scouting for static team/linkshell and such.

I know it's still early since the game isn't due before 6 month, but I will update the thread as I get information about the release date and other things.
This is going to be a great gaming experience... If I can find people to play with regularly on my time zone. Like most older gamers playing MMORPG I can't afford to sit for hours waiting for an invite or for help to get a PL/open a door/give me a lift to X area etc.
Provided that you can put together a good static party FF is the best online game ever... I'm into crafting as much as leveling and I wish to be part of a LS(or whatever it's going to be called in FF14, we still don't know at this point) dedicated to both aspects of the game.
My availability would be most weekdays from 8pm to 10pm, fridays and saturdays 8-9pm till late.

I completely overlooked this information about the game, it's been available since August : fighting won't be semi-auto anymore, rather it'll be real time; you press a button and it toggles fight mode then you start performing melee and range attacks. I was quite used to the old FFXI system that let you communicate with your party while deciding the next step of action to take in the fight, but it might be fun too.
Considering this and the fact that there won't be character levels anymore, we can see that this new FF online is going to be a lot different from anything we've seen before in a MMORPG. Can't wait!

Never got into XI so I'll have to see XIV in action before I say yes....but possibly.
I definitely wont set aside that much time unless it turns out to be an amazing game.

I hear you, these games are like a time vortex
The beta testing might start very soon, it'd be a good way to see if you like the concept. Have you ever played Monster Hunter? FF online draws a lot from this game but with a much more exciting fighting side to it.

FFXI is amazing. Ive played it for a total of 7 years, from 2003-2010, basically until FFXIV came out, and got 7 jobs to 75. It basically ate a major part of my life
but its kinda dated today, so FFXIV is supposed to be the replacement. graphically it's awesome but regrettably the gameplay is nowhere near FFXI level (yet?). so I tried it a little, made a MiQuote and two elves, but gave up after a few weeks. i still have an active acc but no real desire to play it..

Hm, I actually retired but this caught my attention, so I use the time until the admin follows my request and deletes my account.
I'm currently goin' wild with FFXIV and would love some local buddies to slay stuff. I'm on "Besaid", feel free to state your in-game name and I connect with you!
Be aware of two things, though, if you want to give it a shot:
1.) System requirements are pretty hefty. I had to buy a new PC.
2.) You need a VPN. Somehow Square Enix bans China and Korea. Mean, but what are you gonna do, right?
The game itself is just hilariously awesome, despite all the negative reviews it received.

Yeah. Just buy a copy and play without monthly fee's.
(This is due to the japanese fanbase going crazy about it not being what they imagined. The leading producer blushingly retired and Square apologized by making it free for the time being. Thank you, japanese players.)
