Just some information:
Tourist visa(
:
You can extend L visa two times(every time is one month) if you are having tourist visa enter China.
Most country citizen should pay 160RMB for that process, but USA and other some may pay more.
required:
2-inch photo with white background
residence registration certification
Copy of your bank account, should have 21,000 rm.
Also, you can extend it to 3months L visa by visa agency. but it will be charge you some service fee.
Business visa(F):
You can ask a visa agency to do an invitation letter for you, then you can apply an one month F visa in Chinese embassy of your country.
Then take it to enter China.
You can extend it to 3/6/12 months in China through visa agency.
It is more cheaper than convert L visa to F visa in China.
Be attention: From the date you enter China, you can stay in China without leaving the max is one year.

If you hold type of L China Visa.
1>L visa can be extend twice,each time one month 0/1 entry only.
Application Documents:
1.Passport with Current visa
2.Residence Registration Certificate in Beijing.
3.A recent 2-inch photo with pale blue background.
4.Documents certifying financial support for living cost in Beijing.(US$3000 or RMB21,000)
2>L to F is available.
Application Documents:
1.Passport with Current visa
2.Residence Registration Certificate in Beijing.
3.A recent 2-inch photo with pale blue background.
3>L to Z is always available.(If you want to stay in China for a long time.)
If you hold type of F China Visa.
F visa extension:
1>F visa for 3 months 0/1 entry,
2>F visa for 6 months 0/1/2/multi-entries.
3>F visa for 12 months multi-entries.
F to Z is always avilable.You the best choice.
If you hold type of Z China Visa.You are so luckily. You can renew Z visa anytime.
If you hold L/F visa , you want to apply for Z visa .（all the process need 26 working days in China）
step1：Applying for the working invitation letter(5 working days)and employment license(11 working days) in China.
step2: to fly to the nearest place you can go to Hong Kong with the employment license and letter and use them to apply for a temporary Z visa in HK or other country.
step3: come back in beijing with Z visa, then apply for the working permit(5 working days)
step4: application residence permit for one year , multi-entries.(5 working days)

I have a z visa from a company in Dalian. I plan to leave my job and move to Beijing next year. Can I renew my Z visa even if I don't have a new job yet?

if you want to work in beijing ,you have to transfer your visa ,and the new company should also proveide some documents ,such as the copy of the business license.so you'd better find a job first !

Hi there,
Yes, you can renew your current Z visa with our company's sponsor if you dont have a job. But still need some docuements of you like:
1. Release letter from ur previous company
2. resume in English and Chinese
3. original bachelor's degree
4. copy of 2 years chinese working visa or 2yrs overseas working experience;
5. original alien employment permit or cancelation receipt.
