US going into a 20 Depression?

There's a lot of talk out there of where the US economy is going. Some say it is getting better (I have my doubts). While others are predicting the end of the world.
Could the US fall into a Depression or a deep Recession like the one Japan experianced in the 90's?

I had been moving all over the USA to stay employed for two years I stayed ahead of unemployment. July 24th 2009 Unemployment caught me firmly in its grasp. The housing glut, had decimated the lumber industry, and there were essentially no jobs in the lumber industry, and it did not matter where you lived in the USA, NONE!
Some people were not affected much, other than they did not get a raise, and they heard it was bad, they went to work each day, cashed their check on Friday, and thought "what is everyone belly aching about!"
Sadly, when the fat cats started getting fat again, the gov said, the recession is over!!!
Jobs have not come back, and depending on how you measure it, unemployment is at 25%
You know things are bad in the USA economy, when a Manager with a trade school degree has to come to China to look for a job!!! (thats me!)
Things are starting to improve now, but d@mn, we were in a tough depression!
