Re: GreatWall

This was really nice, awesome picture, I really love the great wall, It was much more beautiful than I imagined it would be. The Great Wall is the world's longest man-made structure, stretching over a formidable 6,352 kilometer, from Shanghai Pass on the Bohai Sea in the east. The wall was originally built of stone, wood, grass and earth. The bricks were transported by men carrying them on their backs, donkeys, mules and even goats had a brick tied to their head before being driven up a mountain. It was really awesome, I hope that many people will really like this.

Re: GreatWall

Simatai is a great location to do a wall hike. It is restored but not to the unnatural and fake levels that you see at Badaling, Mutianyu, and Juyongguan. Sadly the wall is now closed to tourists for the totally unecessary 'renovation' of the area. I managed to make 4 visits to Simatai and loved it every time

Re: GreatWall

I love Great Wall. I have been Badaling, Mutianyu and Simatai section of Great Wall, I think Simatai is the most beautiful sections of Great Wall.

Re: GreatWall

Hi,

your pictures look really great, it gives you the envy to go there. actually i was thinking about it, go to China for 10 days and do Beijing, Shanghai and maybe Hong Kong. what do you think? would that be enough to visit 3 cities or should i take longer?

i'm looking for some accommodations too and i've found some on http://www.travelchinaguide.com/hotel/ and on http://hotel.twenga.co.uk/, but i'm not sure yet, do you have some recommendations for it?

if you can tell me what is the best part of the Great Wall to visit, it'll be nice, as it's my first time so i'm pretty a newbie, not very familiar with the place!lol

thanks a lot!

Re: GreatWall

Hi,
Simatai Great Wall is a good choice. But it's closed about one year now. It's doing repair. If you have a full day for the visit of Great Wall. You can go to visit Jinshanling Great Wall. It's linked with Simatai. That part of the Wall is very fascinating. If you just have a half for the Great Wall. Mutianyu Great Wall will be your best choice. There is less tourist and more beautiful .
