I think technically all gambling is illegal in mainland China.

Macoa has good casinos.

But let's face it so many people gamble here on mah jong and it is not really policed unless it is linked to organized crime. The black society, mafia whatever you want to call it. I had them as my neighbours one time.

So, keep it quiet, small, behind locked doors I am sure like most things in China if kept under the radar it is OK.

But, it is illegal.
