Australian getting marrried to a Chinese girl

I am Australian. I now have a Work ( "M" I think ) visa for China. My work will finish here in another month. After a trip home I will return to Beijing to get married, Do I need to get a Tourist Visa to come back to China when I get married as I will not be working here anymore? Can I hold two Visas at once??? Do I then become a resident of China and get my own perminate Visa to trael to and from?

Any help will be great, Thankyou.

Gidday. Strewth, mate. You must have a fair dinkum "Z" visa now. When you finish your job and go back down under it will cancel. I reckon you will need a tourist visa to hoot back from Aussie. You won't need or be able to get 2 visas, ya drongo.

Are you sure? I thought all Z visas were multiple entry these days so he could go back to Australia and then return still using the Z.

I don't think the company will cancel the visa unless they want to make trouble for him.

Residence permits are multi-entry. Not sure about his Z, he will need to check it.

Crikey! You might be right, cobbo! Far as I knew, when your job finished so did yer job. If his company's not mucking around or aggro he might be in good nick.

Let's all crack a tinny, sit on our doonahs and put another shrimp on the barbie mate. Oh look there goes a garbo with the wheelie bins. That reminds me of a joke.

Neighbour talking to Aborigine in residential street:

"Hey Joe, where's ya been?"

Joe: "Um been working out West."

Neighbour: "No, where's ya wheelie been?"

Joe: "Ahh, you got me, I been inside mate."

Boom Boom!

Ran out of Aussie slang lingo.

Rolling On The Floor

For those not familiar with Aussie slang let me translate this for you in traditional English:

"Hello, Joe. Where is your bin?"

The Aborigini mis-interprets this as "Where have you been?"

"Um, I have been working out west."

"No, where is your 'wheelie bin?' A 'wheelie bin' is a type of waste container used for general household waste."

The Aborigini mis-interprets this as "Where have you really been?"

"Oh, you found out my secret. I have been in prison, sir."

Your work visa should be a residence permit for work, which is a multiple-entry one.

If you really don't want to work here anymore (at least before your residence permit expires), you can apply for a tourist L visa to come in. After you are married, you can apply for a visiting-relative L visa, which can be 6 months long or 12 months long and can be extended.

If you come back with your residence permit, it will be harder to convert your residence permit to visiting-relative L visa.
Compared with visa types change, visa extension is much easier, even though the purpose is different (tourist L to visiting-relative L ).

If you want to work and there are plenty of time left on your current residence permit, you can keep you work visa and try to find another job after your marriage.

Anyway, you cannot have two valid Chinese visa at the same time.
