Re: what do you think of this girl's playing?
That is a very difficult piece to play and she does a reasonably good job. I don't recall the name of the piece, but it is used in Conservatory Studies. The purpose of the piece is to work on the counter-bass pattern with your thumb. It is difficult to master.
I seem recall that is drop D tuning (the sixth string is tuned to D instead of E). The remainder are normal tuning, so the guitar is tuned DADGBE.
If you are asking why she rests the guitar on her left leg, it is because that is the usual way to play classical guitar. You also commonly rest your left foot on a foot rest (about 15 cm high) to elevate your left leg. This positions your body and, more importantly, your left and right hands to execute classical playing techniques. It also raises the guitar neck to a more vertical position, which makes the necessary left hand stretches easier.

I think he means the semitone (half step) clashes.
That's the way the piece was written David-there are a bunch of chords where she plays for example a Do and a Do# (or it could be a do and re) at the same time, creating what is called a discord.

I think she plays wonderfully however...I'm not a big fan of the discord.
Not entirely crisp when she executes some of the chords but...look at her finger extensions - awesome!

Re: what do you think of this girl's playing?
The piece is usually performed as a trio with the pianist dealing with "grace notes" counterpoint and such.
She's absolutely massacring it and somehow is catching the beginning notes of the piano arpeggios from the piano part on the first beat of every bar creating clashes... Its also in a different key than the original with the lack of dynamics, tempo and phrasing making it a tough listen. A less manic Villa Lobos piece might have been a better choice but the whole thing boils down to the guitar as "Spanish" or "Classical" being such a tough instrument to learn proficiently, the combinations and techniques are infinite.
She's actually not a bad player, there are parts that she plays very well... the music is simply too advanced and possibly mis-transcribed.
Sometimes simplicity is what is needed, here's John Williams (formally of SKY) who along with Julian Bream are two to learn from.

Simplicity at it's best. Calm and precise with both hands. Lovely piece
