Relaxed visa rules?

I read in the 'China Daily' that the visa application rules were going to be relaxed after being tight for the Olympics and the 60th anniversary. I was just wondering if this has happened yet? Is it still necessary to have $3000 in a bank account for tourist visas? Also are 6 month f visas still very expensive compared with what they were in 2006/7 (through agents)?
cheers

Re: Relaxed visa rules?

Seems more relax visa rules in Beijing.
But still need $3000 for L visa extension.
Anyway, both the conversion from L to F and the F visa extension becomes easier.

Re: Relaxed visa rules?

For L visa extension, bank reference is needed, still $100/day but for F extension, price is cheaper n working time is shorter too.

Re: Relaxed visa rules?

yes, relaxed rule doesn't mean such rule is changed, for visa application ,it is more easier and demanding time is shorter than before. But if you want to extend tourist visa, certain bank deposit is needed
Good luck

Re: Relaxed visa rules?

Thanks. That sucks about the $3000, just managed to scrape it together last time in one day!
