L Visa Question: "Enter Before" date = Expiration date?

Hi,

I have an L-visa (US passport) with an Issues Date of 12-March-2009. The "Enter Before" date is 12-March-2010. Multiple entries, 90 day duration of each stay.

Does this mean the passport expires by 12-March-2010, or that I have 90 days as long as I enter by 12-March-2010 (10-June-2010)?

If it does expire 12th March, is it possible to renew for another L-visa?

THANKS.

Re: L Visa Question: "Enter Before" date = Expiration date?

enter date is on the round stamp where you got it at the boarder. count 90 days from that date, is the date your visa expires. and yes i can help you to extend it to 1 month or 3 months.

Re: L Visa Question: "Enter Before" date = Expiration date?

As long as you "ENTER BEFORE" March 12, 2010, you have another 90 days which is calculated from the entry date, i.e. written on the oval red entry stamp which you get when you cross the border.
For example, if you enter on March 1, 2010, your 90-day stay will expire roughly on May 30, 2010.

Since you cannot use your current L visa again (enter before March 12, 2010), you can have it extended twice, 30 days maximum for each time in China mainland.

But as you have a US passport, for a simple 30 days extension, the government charge is the same with that for a one-year visa.
In that case, you'd better have it converted to a 6-month F visa in China mainland or re-apply for a new 1-year 90-day visa in the US.

hello,

when you come to china ,and you will get a stamp on your passport and from that entry date ,you can stay in china for 90 days ,and when your visa is expried ,you can extended it 2 times and each time is 30 days.
