GOOD and CHEAP highlights in Beijing ?

Hi everybody !

I'm looking for a Chinese hairdresser who can make great highlights for a low price.

(I used to live in Shanghai and I found a great Chinese hairdresser : 150 RMB for highlights and hair cut (all together), and very good job ! )

Do you know if I can find something like that in Beijing ? Where ?

Thank you for your help Big Grin

PS : I noticed that there are already posts about that but I'm not interested in Tony and Guy, Franck Provost, C de France, Eric Paris...too expensive !

Re: GOOD and CHEAP highlights in Beijing ?

i hear you! i moved to bj 1 year ago and went on a quest to find good hair salons and facial places...spots like tony & guy and pc paris are way too expensive!!! have you looked into tony studio? a chinese owned chain hair studio? you can also find relatively good + reasonable priced places around salintun...also i found this amazing european holistic facial place that is worth a try...

Re: GOOD and CHEAP highlights in Beijing ?

Come on!!! Someone reply!! I need a good hairdresser too!!
I had the same gal in Los Angeles for YEARS and only paid 60 bucks or so for highlights and a haircut (I know that is cheap for the States).
I hear Tony and Guy all of the time but the price is just more than I want to pay. No offense to anyone but this is not L.A. I can't justify spending 1,000rmb

Re: GOOD and CHEAP highlights in Beijing ?

I wanted to write a review about EYE, a salon in the LG towers, but I don't see it. I'm not sure why a HAIR salon is called EYE but I had a good cut/color at a good price so I wanted to pass the word along.

I had highlights (long hair, full highlights) and a haircut for 360rmb. it's not 150 but it's much less than a few of the other places I have been to and it's right there at the subway exit, you don't have to leave the building. They don't speak great English but they have lots of pics to look though so I found the look I wanted (they have mags from all over the world. It was nice to look though Vouge, Paris and Italy and read some American junk too.

If you live in the embassy area, i.e., around Ritan Park, you can check out Heat Hair at SOHO Shangdu. It is recently opened by a guy from Sydney Australia. The owner and also the stylist speaks English. Prices are good. Call Ken at 13811592046 to check it out.

Re: GOOD and CHEAP highlights in Beijing ?

I think it's not because the hairdresser, it because the lack of communication....if the hairdresser don't know what you expect, how can they make it happen??? go meet some chinese ppl who can speak chinese and english so they can translate for you~lol I'm available for free~ Raised Eyebrow

Re: GOOD and CHEAP highlights in Beijing ?

I disagree with that. Even if they can speak English sometimes they do one side well and "forget" to do the other side. Like we won't notice. Maybe locals don't notice if a haircut is done badly but we do.

Re: GOOD and CHEAP highlights in Beijing ?

yeah~that's true..that's why I'm missing get my hair cut back to LA~~Chinese ppl need to learn what's call professional

Re: GOOD and CHEAP highlights in Beijing ?

There is a good, inexpensive local place behind the Da Zhong on Chaowai Ave, walking toward the North Gate of Tuanjiehu park. No English, but they really can cut hair and did really nice highlights on a friend who has naturally strawberry blonde hair. I don't have highlights, but I thought hers were great. She took in two pictures of Nicole Kidman and the boy immediately got it. This was last year but I remember it was less than 300 for everything. Good luck
