Wow! THIS IS AMAZING! You know, I know most of the reason myself why this is so, and I've been in china for a long time and learnt from teachers and real chinese friends the culture of the chinese people and their ways and have come to appreciate many of it. I also know about the darker skin problem, I noticed and inquired very early about why chinese bleach themselves so much and it was explained to me by my teacher.I'm not ignorant of that. But what is amazing is the number of others who are not chinese who tollerate, rejoice, and exhalt, and take pleassure in this type behaviour. To those of you who thought that the reason for starting this conversation was for your pity or sympathy, I feel sorry for you. As a matter of fact this was more for you foreign white guys. to herojuana. what you said is quite true, i've witness it myself, to be honest i loath it i feel ashamed and embarrassed when i see it, and many times it has prevented me from ever speaking to one woman in the bar or club i've seen it on that night/time. but I've also witness even more gross things performed by white men here,beleive me I wouldn't just say that, and also by chinese themselves.whit people do it too.My point is there are scum bags everywhere in every races class or creed, and we the people of the world should know that, and in turn judge every individual, individually when you meet them and speak to them. I'll tell you a story. just recently I was in a cab the driver looked at me and I could tell he wanted to say something so i started the conversation to break the ice, then he said to me, in chinese, you are a nice person, alot of black men that he's given ride are not. at first i was defensive immediately,to myself, then i smiled, then he continued but you are not, I replied alot of chinese are not nice to us either, he said yes it's true, i continued sometimes they wont' even stop for a black person, he said yes it's true and it's not right, because not all people are the same, and no one should be judge on another person's behaviour but his own. so you see the maturity of a regular cab driver? and I think every person in the world knows that not all people are the same, for example inspite of all the unfair treatment i receive i still give every chinese person i meet a chance to show me who they are.
Also did you know that according to the cia world fact book that china ranks 14 out of a 153 countries with people with aids/hiv virus?and I don't know about you or others , are you aware that before coming to china that one of the prerequisite for a visa is an hiv/aids test?so that should not be used as an excuse to treat a black person unfairly.

I mean no insult to the chinese people by this(i'll state for the record I love chinese)but I think that chinese people are very narrow minded,even if they say they're open minded(maybe open minded to do crazy things,if you know what I mean I'm sure you white guys know what I mean) and are heavily influenced by what they see on television,since for most of them it's very difficult near impossible to travel so they have no experience of other culture, and are even more influenced by what a white person says to them. I have alot of white friends who laugh at and mock the ignorance, and what they call stupidity, and naivity of the chinese people and as one guy said in his reply, they worship a white person. I'm not judging, even if it might sound that way, I'm just trying to point out and hopefully educate some of the people out there, and ask that we look at problems and endeavour to change them instead of being a nuisance about it.
