Wanted: Name & contact details of ABC visa officer at Beijing US Consulate who denied my biz visa
I am looking for the name and contact details of the ABC visa officer at the Beijing US Consulate who denied a biz visa application yesterday without any explanation.
The reason I am somewhat annoyed with this overseas born Chinese visa officer is that I was actually invited to the US on a business trip by a state governor's office, not some buddy I have not seen in years. The interview dialogue that led to my biz visa application failure was as follows:
US: Your purpose to travel to the US?
MJ: I promote the state of XXX in China, so I take Chinese tour operators to XXX to promote the state in China
US: How long have you worked for your company?
MJ: 5-6 years, here is my employee certificate
US: How long have you lived in China for?
MJ: 8 years
US: (In Chinese) Where did you study?
MJ: Beijing Language and Cultural University
US: (In Chinese) Where do you live?
MJ: Dongzhimen area
US: (In Chinese) How long do you intend travelling to the US for?
MJ: Two weeks
US: (In Chinese) Do you own a house in Beijing?
MJ: Why are we speaking in Chinese? No, I don’t have a house in Beijing, too expensive, but I have a house in my own country.
US: Have you travelled to the USA before?
MJ: No, I have not
US: Please take this form and read it, good bye
MJ: What is this paper?....Have I been denied the visa?
US: Yes, good bye
MJ: Why? I have a letter of invitation from the Office of the Governor, XXX state, which you have not even looked at?
US: That doesn’t interest me, good bye
Description of visa officer:
Overseas born Chinese, Male, 20's-early 30's, short in stature, clean cut, has a platinum wedding ring (although I suspect it was fake all things considered)
Any assistance in getting this individual's name and contact details will be generously rewarded. I can't wait to hear his reason for failing my application based on a US government invitation.
The power trip this pathetic little arrogant person enjoyed yesterday resulted in a loss of almost RMB1000 of my money and 3 hours of waiting in queue's. It shouldn't be allowed for visa officers to fail an application just because one is in a bad mood, chip on the shoulder or menstuating.

Instead of hunting down a visa officer (not a smart move in any country), why not just give it another go?

More people get denied than get approved, and they're upfront about making it clear that they don't give specific reasons for denials.
I don't necessarily agree with the policy, and I experienced similar frustration in getting my wife a visa. But based on the information you provide I don't think you were treated any worse than anyone else.
Not that I expect that to cheer you up.

it is obvious that your denial is that you don't own a house or property in China!!

Loosing 1000 yuan is nothing. Just to get a paper legalized in Europe for China with all the necessary stamps takes almost the same amount. Like the proof that you have a house in your country etc...
As to a visa officers, they have power to deny anyone they feel is an imminent threat for illegal immigration. It does not matter who invited you. So many immigration people are also doing business with illegal immigration so they are here to stop that. It all depends on your nationality. If people from you country end up overstaying their visas in the USA. Then without the house and family here, it is very unlikely you will get a visa, even if the president Obama invites you. For your information, he has an auntie who has overstayed her visa in the USA and is facing deportation....
Only thing you can do is to try again. I know many Chinese who have been humble enough to keep trying and trying, and finally they met a nice officer, and were awarded the visa!!!

They are legally obligated to tell you why they aren't giving you the visa. Write a letter to the ambassador.
I have to say the visa officers here are super pricks about everything.

That's not true. They are very clear beforehand that they will not give a specific reason for a denial, if you get one.
It doesn't make any sense to me, but that's the policy.

First, what is your nationality?
Second, you should not have asked him why you two were speaking Chinese. Wrong move!
