Migraine + acupuncture?
Anyone else suffering from migraines? I get it once in a while and I got medication for it but it's pretty expensive (Imigran, 1000RMB for 6 pills) and I heard acupuncture can work.
Anyone tried acupuncture for migraine and where did you go? An english speaking TCM would be nice.

I've never tried acupuncture, but I know that mine are triggered by MSG, so I try to avoid places that are heavy on the MSG. I know this is hard to do here, as most restaurants use MSG (that is why the food here "tastes so good"), but some places use less. The other thing is to keep hydrated. FWIW, I never got migraines prior to coming here.
I would be interested in hearing your about results with acupuncture.

Treating migraine with acupuncture is pretty standard, any acupuncturist should be able to do it. The success rates are very high.
Try going to Dongzhimen or Wanjing hospitals. They should have some staff who can speak English, but I'm not sure who exactly does. If you can't find a doctor who speaks English there are plenty of Chinese and foreign students floating around there who can translate for you.

Get yourself a sewing needle, have someone grip it about 5mm from the end and very lightly jab where the roots of hair start or usually start at the top of your neck, it stimulates nerves.

That's only the way the Bildeburger space Jews do it.

Re: Migraine + acupuncture?
I'm a huge believer in TCM. I was dealing with infertility issues, and had gone through everything from Clomid to IVF for 5 years with no results AT ALL! I did acupuncture, and three months later I discovered I had conceived and my beautiful three year old son is living proof! It also took care of my fibrocystic breast disease (very painful and the western docs back home said it was untreatable and I had to have the cysts drained every few months). Lastly, I used it for migraines as well and have not had ANY migraines in over two years. Now, if I feel a headache coming on, I do acupressure.
You'll find that most of the medical centers, like Beijing United, SOS, and IMC have a TCM practitioner on board. That's where I would start. Or contact whomever your family doctor is and they may well have someone they recommend. Good Luck!

Re: Migraine + acupuncture?
Hi, guys! Sorry for the somewhat late responses, but I'm in need of some serious help. I've had acupuncture done before, but it didn't seem to work. It seems like no matter what I try, I'm unable to get rid of these stupid migraines. I hate them so much! The fact that they're so debilitating is especially frustrating. Sometimes I wonder if it's something other than a simple "migraine." Just out of sheer curiosity, because I know migraines/headaches are ONE of the symptoms; what are the OTHER symptoms of chordoma? I'm curious because if there really IS something, I want my condition evaluated as soon as possible. Thanks!
