Yesterday, some of you got pretty harsh in my Helping thread. But that's OK. Because you're OK. Before I came to China I had this tai chi instructor. (Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese martial art that is completely non-violent! That's right, you can defend yourself, and no one gets hurt. It's like a gentle dance between negative and positive quarko-trons or, I forget the science part.) He used to tell us that a pig looks at the Buddah and sees a pig, because a pig is all pig, see. But, get this!, a Buddah looks at a pig and sees only Buddah. Think about that! Pretty cool, huh? That's how I live my life. So I forgive all of you. You just don't know any better. But I'm patient. I plan to stick around for a long, long time.

If that's what you learnt from your Tai hi teacher, then you were taught wrong.
TaiChi is a martial art, and does hurt. Sure, you can defend against someone in a non-violent way, but then in the majority of cases, they will just come back to attack you again straight away. In that situation, or against multiple attackers for example, taichi must be used with it's intended focus and applicable force.
Have you even seen a taichi sparring competition?
I'm sure you mean well, but i hate it when people talk about taichi likes its a feather duster, and lead people to get the wrong idea about it.

You don't understand the Way of Peace. I studied at the Peacepath Non-Violent Martial Arts Center in Boulder, Colorado. My Master, Mr. Kravitz had never been in a fight! Not even in grade school. That convinced me! Just like Sun Zi said in "The Art of War" (an ancient Chinese classic, I really think you need to read. I can explain it to you if you need.) that the best general never fights. Mr. K was a Master Warrior!

I can relate to that Archie. I have never lost a physical fight in my life, because I have never been in one even as a little boy. I was too scared to fight and therefore developed senses to avoid them and walk or run away when confronted. And it has worked out very well because I am VERY good at sports and I was trained to kill (using any available resources) and not to fight. So I don’t call the things I’ve done as fighting but just doing my job.
I’m too old to start a fight now and the kind of schooling, work and contacts I’ve had with people have been…far removed from fighting. I have stopped woman, child and weaker people in China from getting beaten in streets when others were just gathering to watch 3 times. I used bluff to stop them from fighting me and it is a good thing for them that has worked because I hold a full house when I bluff (maybe that’s not what’s called bluffing).

I think Caligula was an 80's movie about the so-called "evil" Emperor of Rome by that name. A lot of people said the film was just high priced porn and that it objectified women. In fact, in the film, Caligula raped both men and women. You might think of that as a kind of affirmative action approach to sexual violence. To that extent, we can all learn from Caligula. I think some of you are picking the fight with me. Which is absurd, because the Bhagavad Gita teaches God is everything. So you're only fighting yourselves. The sooner you learn that, the sooner you will start listening to me and be really happy. (The Gita is an ancient Hindu classic which has been translated into English. If anyone needs me to explain what it really means, I'll be happy to. I read the Cliff's Notes for it for a class on Third World Spiritulity and the Crisis of Christianity.)

Kwiuk? That name means Kiwi and UK, right? If you're feeling conflicted about your mixed heritage of English and Maori, don't. Being part English is almost as beautiful as being other-pigmented. You have nothing to be asamed of. Plus, I so respect the Maori. Their decades-long non-violent struggle against the white oppressors has inspired me to write some of my best free verse (I can PM you the whole book, if you like.) Yes, I like to "get down with the brown." (In a wholly non-invasive, non-sexual way, I mean.)

Obviously the Archie Angel has been around for a long time Joe and he seems to know every character here very well. I really love his approach, creativity and the way he is handling this.
I am really glad that he is an old timer here because even Jesus Christ would have been crucified again in a heartbeat on this forum.
