Classic Chinese dance, faux ballet and other stupid dance which you could see on stage on Jan 1st, June 1st,or Oct 1st(maybe even on July 1st, who knows?)....Because i learnt dance in primary school in spare time . I was dismissed from "dance team" because I became not so slim as other dance girls since puberty

Now i am just good at swinging with music...
Good.
I only began to learn dance when I was a sophomore. Just learnt some social dance.
I find tango is very graceful, I hope I can become that slim to dance that.
I am not good at swinging with music.
And I really dislike stags in dancing ball, or man+man dance.
Silky, there are basically 2 kinds of ballroom dances, latin and modern. Esp for modern dances, you just need to know some basic steps, and if you have a good dance partner, he WILL make you feel you are a good one.
Rumba, samba, cha-cha, jive/swing, salsa and paso doble are latin dances. Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Tango, foxtrot, and quicksteps are modern dances.
I am not sure about the differences of quicksteps and jive(they call it swing in America and Jitterbug in some north European countries). If you don't practice, you forget them quickly. I learnt most of the dances, but forgot above 80%. Tango is beautiful, and very beautiful. I know a cool teacher, if you want his number, I can PM you. You feel like you are in love when you dance with him.
For street dances, there are Breakin', Hip-Hop, Poppin', Lockin', House, Krumpin'... and, they are so difficult! You see boys practice it often before some shopping center like Anzhen hualian. In clubs that I've been to, they seldom do those floor movements. You just need to follow the beats.
Thanks, Herbie. I don't know any type of street dance. What kind of music is House? Rather Quick with more beats than rhythm? Like those played in vics during weekend?

House is a style of music without any particular style of dance.
Beats and rhythm are the same thing Bigsmile, house music is essentially the thing that followed disco with the speeds being approx 115(vocal/soul)-160(hardhouse) beats per minute. Its named after the "warehouse" club in Chicago.
Anything with a solid 1-2-3-4 kick drum is generally referred to as house but there are very many individual styles.
Imagine eating a McDonald's hamburger was music. That's house.
tish! ... tish! ... tish! tish! tish! tish!
I often swing slightly and tap floor slightly with music in McDonald's when i was waiting for my hamburger ready. So do I sometimes when i wait in loooog line in front of counter of supermarket
However, i eat quietly

I personally love tango most.
Thanks dear!
My colleague physical culture teacher taught us a little Latin, he said it is important to keep the forceful position when dance Latin, when he laid the preparation position for Latin, we can obviously feel that he is taller than usual. Because all the bones are straightened.
It is said men learn to dance to get close to girls and girls do sports to get close to men (creepy bastards! ) Hint, men really prefer sports and girls really prefer to dance.
As a teenager my sisters and I took ballroom dancing, practiced a lot and won few prizes in competitions.
As a creepy young man I took a modern dance class in college a long time ago to increase my chances of getting laid and…man! I had no idea that there were so many little mussels in my body that could hurt like HELL the next day.
I like disco clubs because I can pretend I’m drunk, don’t know how to dance and look good to attract a lot of girls to me. Creepy, no? LOL
I love the Chinese dance culture when in summer time common people gather together with their family in public places at nights and dance. I think it is great.
I don’t like to learn the 1, 2, 3, 4 stuff of dancing any more, too many numbers for me (1, 2 or maybe 3 is okay). I can get the right moves when I watch and feel the music.

Club "Warehouse"? Hope they are interested to open a branch here someday
Beats and music/tones then? New Vics is a bit cooler than before. Anyways I call all those pure disco clubs' music House (Have to be careful in naming, can Banana, Vics, Mix, and Babyface be called pure disco clubs?) House to me is a kind of music that makes you deaf temporarily and your ears humming.
A former colleague tried to explain to me what House was, and he successfully failed.

Re: Are you good at dance?
I can dance.
Everyone in England can dance.
You don't need to "study" how to do it.
You just express your feelings through the medium.
