I can't get access to China Daily's 'comment's' section....blocked?
I have in the past few weeks, due to having rather too much spare time on my hands, taken to reading the 'China Daily' website, especially their 'opinion' section. Furthermore, I have been adding my own little nuggets of wisdom, which, if I am 100% honest, have not always been particularly China friendly, (well China government anyway). And now I can't seem to access the comments section at all (I can get on the main site no problem and read the articles....woo hoo for the beacon of non-biased journalism that it is). So I was just wondering if you think I have been blocked completely from the comments site for being a naughty boy? Surely the government aren't that paranoid? Surely it's still possible to poke a bit of fun them??????
If I am blocked, I will have to come to terms with a life without 'China daily' and readers will have to live without my rapier wit, slicing through that days hot potato. Ho hum.

It is extremely likely that you have been "harmonized".
I can't stomach China Daily myself, but I occasionally read the slightly more open Global Times' comments section.
Almost every time I see a comment that tends toward truth rather than the Party line, I notice that the status of whoever left it is "Banned". And I'm not talking about particularly baiting and inflaming comments like shortshao's.
And I'm sure the censors are working doubly hard at CD.
I guess it's something, at least, that the banned posters' comments aren't always deleted entirely.
And I don't know if it's TBJ-style banning, where all the offenders need to do is create a new ID, or a permanent ban. I suspect the latter. But you could try creating a new ID and see if that works.

I am afraid it is mostly caused by some error on your web browser or uncompleted html content from webserver. An individual reader is impossible to be blocked if he use dynamic IP which is must common IP address assigned method in network nowadays.
Many online media does not display comments immediately, until the comments have been agreed by editor or author. It happens not only on Chinese media, but also on western media. I wrote comments on BBC.uk or Spiegel.de, it takes hours to see my comments published on web page

The only way to have harmonious free opinion is to carefully pre-screen what was freely expressed. If your opinion isn't harmonious, then you are clearly a malcontent or deranged and they decline to provide a forum for your type. Duh!
