Okay I saw it with my proxy. That is a Chicken sandwich. It doesn't matter what the bread is, if it has Chicken or any meat besides BEEF in it then it is just a sandwich.

It's only a chicken sandwich in the US

It's a chicken burger everywhere else in the world

So the CCP treating them like slaves is fine, but don't f*** with their KFC!

What's with KFC and colossal promotion f***-ups? Didn't they have a big mess in the U.S. a year or two ago over some Oprah promotion?

Still going? How many chooks do you and your wife have?

Are they pets? Are they your later dinners? or You are simply a supplier to the KFC?

Re: KFC riots!!!

I have to back up Zhenlai. In the U.S. a "burger" = beef on hamburger bun bread. Even the U.S. KFC website uses the word "sandwiches".

"Burger" vs."sandwich".... not that it is a big issue though. B)

Hell, if they cooked up Oprah and made semmitches, I'd clamor for one, too. Anything to get her off TV and out of the media once and for all.

I bet we could make it into a roaring big issue if we tried. There are those who say that the War Between the States started over a dispute as to whether one should say, "The United States is..." or "The United States are..." Likewise, the schism between the Orthodox and the Catholics started because of a dispute about the Nicene Creed. The one said that the Holy Spirit, "proceeds from the Father"; the latter insisted that the Spirit, "proceeds from the Father and the Son." So, if we play our cards right, there is no reason why we might not have a situation calling for UN peacekeepers patrolling KFC's on five continents.

Nine. They just showed up at our house one day. I keep PMing them but they don't leave.

Seriously, the locals really put too much importance on KFC.

I am quite amused by this story.

I always find it interesting when my Chinese friends want to go to KFC. I would estimate KFC is more popular in China than the U.S.

It also shows that the Chinese really like to collect coupons for a discount. Finding a "price discount" or "bargain" is very attractive to Chinese shoppers.

I've been trying to figure out effective Chinese marketing since the day I arrived.

Coupons definitely seem to be popular. But you don't see them used by companies trying to attract customers all that frequently yet. KFC and McDonalds are exceptions, of course. You'd think more companies would take notice.

From my own experience, I think "buy one, get one free" is even more appealing than coupons for the average Chinese consumer.

that's why you specify....

"I'd like the spicy chicken sandwich" is probably a burger.
"One chicken BLT on rye" is probably a sandwich.

Isn't precision of language fantastic? Angel

Hmm.... do chicken BLTs even exist? Thinking
