If you apply for one month L visa in ur home country, and wanna stay for more than 4 months here in China, you can extend L visa for one month and then extend it for there months. L visa can be only extended for two times, after that you must leave china.

Or there is another option, find a company here to do Business Invitation Letter for you ,with this letter you can get one month F visa, it can be extended for 6 months.so F visa can meet your needs.

Have you get L visa yet? If not, you'd better apply for F visa. It's more convenient in China, and cheap when you extend it.

If you already had got L visa, you also could stay in China for four months. Although, L visa can be extend twice. You can extend for one month first time, then extend for three months. So the time is enough.

If you want to stay in China for 4 months and about 15 days,the better way is to extend your L visa twice,the fist is to extend one month,the other is to extend 3 months.
If you want to stay a little longer ,then convert L to F visa.

Do suggest you to come to China on F visa if you have not get a china visa yet, because F visa 6-months extension is always cheaper than L visa 3-months extension.

While if you have already get the tourist visa and you will come to China soon, then you can only do L extension, one month extension first, 3months extension then.
