Who REALLY knows about football? (daily predictions)

I know nothing but let's see all the footy heads predict each day's scores NOT NEXT WEEKS eh? keep on topic for we the uneducated.

So tonight's results will be?

Re: Who REALLY knows about football? (daily predictions)

Hello, I know a little about football, but I have to let you know that football season in over. I like both the NFL and college football. I think the Dallas Cowboys will be good this year and the New Orleans Saints should also be tough this year.

I also like the chances of my school, the Oregon State Beavers to have a good year.

There you go, that is good information on football. =-))

Any more questions feel free to ask. Rolling On The Floor

I really know football. I predict that the Giants and the Jets will play in the Super Bowl this year.

Laughing Laughing Laughing You f-ing whopper.

Back on topic, I'm fancying France to beat Uruguay 2-1 (they're sh*t, their coach is sh*t, but Uruguay will probably try and snap some legs as usual and needlessly get a couple of players sent off a few minutes after a Forlan opener).

South Africa 1-1 Mexico. Cautious and fairly uninspiring opener which neither will want to risk losing. Might have gone for a South Africa win having seen how sh*t Mexico were against England, but I don't think SA have quite enough about them.

Re: Who REALLY knows about football? (daily predictions)

And that Mexican keeper Ochoa (didn't play against England) is very good.

My predictions:
-- Asleep before first match.
-- Good rest, likely up to pee around 3
-- Up for a run at around 5:30, expect to finish 10k at around 0:53:00

Re: Who REALLY knows about football? (daily predictions)

Can all the c**ts who have nothing to contribute please knock it on the head, you're just using the same jokes you ruined the other thread with.

Would you rather have a lively worthwhile discussion board or one full of Silkywaves spouting inanity?

Re: Who REALLY knows about football? (daily predictions)

In my defense, I'd like to point out that I'm not using the same jokes. It was a new joke.

But seriously man, people who predict how many goals are scored should consider making a living with a crystal ball and call themselves The Great Gazoo.

Re: Who REALLY knows about football? (daily predictions)

I appreciate the pointlessness of it, Pi.

It's just something to discuss, other than Silkywave's latest retarded ramblings.

What does that have to do with whether or not Brady will be back with the Patriots after his contract expires?

Re: Who REALLY knows about football? (daily predictions)

It's always difficult to predict these group stage games, but here goes:

SA v Mexico----draw
Uruguay v France ------France win
Argentina v Nigeria----Argentina win
South Korea v Greece-----SK win

England v USA.

I'm pretty nervous about this one actually. Let's not forget USA beat Spain and narrowly lost out to Brazil in the Confederations Cup final. They're no slouches. I'm worried that we could lose this, but USA have pretty bad form in the group stages usually.

I really don't want to predict this, because it will come back to bite me in the arse, but I'm going with a narrow England win.

American Idiots, can't you go and start an 'I hate soccer thread'? Then if you do well, maybe a 'USA are the best football team in the world' thread.

Knob-ends.

interesting, contrasting england vs american syles/attitudes

USA loss would be England tragedy

Quote:
In the same way, we have never much minded the USA soccer team. Their earnestness and love for football was charming to know about when it wasn't a threat. It was OK to patronise them on playing the sport we invented. We are amused by the fact that a match 60 years ago is still regarded as perhaps Team USA's greatest day. But now, with it staring us in the face, to consider losing to them again at our own game is a challenge to our haughty indifference. Make no mistake: Englishmen badly want this. This being not to lose to the Americans.

England-USA refs given swear word list
June 10, 2010
http://soccernet.espn.go.com/world-cup/story/_/id/794485/ce/uk/?cc=4716&...

The Brazilian match officials for the match between England and USA have been given a crash course in English swear words, according to a report in the Guardian.

While unconnected with Wayne Rooney's antics during England's warm-up match against Platinum Stars on Monday, the officials have been given a list of 20 words and phrases to keep an ear out for.

"We have to learn what kinds of words the players say," linesman Altemir Hausmann said. "All players swear, and we know we will hear a few 'son of a ...'". His colleague Roberto Braatz added: "We can't do this in 11 different languages, but at least we have to know the swear words in English."

Despite the comments of the officials, FIFA denied it had distributed any such list.

Re: Who REALLY knows about football? (daily predictions)

SA v Mexico -- Mexico, by the scruff of their neck. I'm betting first red card in that match Laughing
Uruguay v France -- Uruguay. No idea how good they are, but I'm all for France going out in the first round.
Argentina v Nigeria -- Argentina despite Maradonna's efforts
South Korea v Greece -- Greece
England v USA -- Englaaaaaaaand!!!! Hopefully. Haha! USA's no longer a push-over.
