It'd be to your advantage to learn how to tell real jade from fake.

A place to look around for jade bracelets is the Liu Li Chang area. But I've found that the jade sold in Beijing is far more expensive than in, say, Hong Kong.

A bracelet made of real, quality jade, might run you four or five hundred $HK in the jade market in Hong Kong while a jade bracelet of the same quality here in Beijing is closer to a thousand kuai.

But there is supply at Liu Li Chang (He Ping Men subway walk south)...it's just not cheap.
