Starcraft 2 Import to Beijing?

I was wondering if anyone arriving into Beijing was thinking of importing some copies of Starcraft 2?

I know a couple of people (including myself) who are looking for a copy.

Re: Starcraft 2 Import to Beijing?

I highly doubt it's imported to Beijing since it's regional locked, if it is then it will probably be ridiculous expensive (it's like $50-80 USD right now) so your best bet is to order it online (you can just buy a key and download the client online so you don't actually need to wait for the box to be shipped over).

What I mean by regional locked:
At the moment Starcraft2 has 3 different version: Starcraft2 North America (US), Starcraft2 Europe, and Starcraft2 SEA (South East Asia) beta. You can still play it anywhere in the world (geographically) but for example, if you purchased a Starcraft2 US version, then you cannot play with the players from Starcraft2 Europe and vice versa. It is rumored to say that SEA version will grant you access to both the US server and South East Asia server, but it is not out yet. Your battlenet account can only hold ONE Starcraft2 account too, so you can't just buy SEA version later on when it's out and add it to your bnet account when you already have an US version. Hopefully they will implement cross-server later on, but I think it's a business strategy. Sad

I actually got a Starcraft2 US for free from a friend in the States and I can play it in Beijing perfectly. Big Grin The graphic is amazing and the storyline is very well written. The custom maps are super fun too, it's literally a game of everything and not just another RTS game. Definitely worth the money.

I do love this game but unfortunately cannot play it in Beijing. I have got EU version and even 1v1 with Europe lags so bad.

I wish I could continues playing it. I used to play like everyday since July 27. Goddamned slow chinese internet.

Re: Starcraft 2 Import to Beijing?

I can play with SEA version..I can play fine from Singapore server..take a bit of loading but once running it is uninterupted.

Anyway,as info..I bought it online from http://www.play-asia.com/

and shipped it here

Re: Starcraft 2 Import to Beijing?

Play fine from Taiwan server.I downloaded it from some website in China

Re: Starcraft 2 Import to Beijing?

There is now a Chinese region.

You can get the client here:
http://www.battlenet.com.cn/zh/

20rmb a month subscription fee.
Annoying but I'm tired of getting beaten because of lag, if I play for less than two years it ends up being cheaper anyway.

Everything's in Chinese but obviously if you need to be able to read the writing to play Starcraft you aren't ready to play online.

You need a Chinese identity number thingy to sign-up which is massively gay, you'll need to use someone else's if you're not Chinese.

Re: Starcraft 2 Import to Beijing?

Hey man

Actually I have downloaded the version of SC2 from this website only to dkscover that it downloded the same GB version I had before. F...ng weird because all the downloading manuals were in chinese.

I d play with you if I can figure out what's wrong. Maybe my old version is somehow mirrored in registry and it automatically downloads me the old version.

Any idea?

Re: Starcraft 2 Import to Beijing?

Install to a different folder.

Also, you can use the GB client on the Chinese servers with the relocalizer found here:

A bit of fiddling is required with it at the moment though, as the latest patch is not supported (1.3.6).

As you can see a lot of people on that thread have problems so give the instructions a good read before you try it out, reinstalling after doing it wrong is common.

Are you sure you don't have the Chinese version installed somewhere but are clicking on the wrong shortcut?

As for the ka you can just buy it online via https://www.battlenet.com.cn/

Needed a Chinese ID and a Chinese credit card though.

Re: Starcraft 2 Import to Beijing?
