Police Visa fine (5000 yuan??)
I was recently caught by the police teaching on an F-Visa. I'll spare you all my excuses, but the school has been dealing with the situation. They now say the police will fine me 5000 yuan.
Is this normal? I haven't heard of it happening to anyone else, and having no direct contact with the police myself I've no clue whether it's true or not.
Any advice?
Thanks

That's normal. It is illegal to teach on an F visa. Maybe you'll get problems when you have to renew your visa.

The fine will be set anywhere between 1000 and 30000 RMB. The school gets normally the same fine.
And yes that happened a lot lately. I know myself a least of 3 similar cases and 2 of the teachers had there Visas canceled and where escorted to the airport within 48 hours. Believe me if its only 5000 Yuan you are fine.
Good luck

Can you elaborate on how you got caught? Or how others have been getting caught?
Seems pretty difficult for them to catch you working for them unless you walked into classes while you were teaching.
I'm not an English teacher but I would like to avoid this issue if possible.
Thanks for any info.

I think it was due to a fake company the Visa company set up to get an introductory letter, but who knows. The real mistake was saying I was teaching and being paid for it. That and having the wrong visa.

But how did they catch you? Did they raid the school while you were teaching? Catch you as you walked out and interrogate you?

Why not schange it to Z (work) visa? Then you can teach in China without any upset.

yes, If you want to stay longer in China for one year or much longer, you should have a long time residence permit. So you should have a Z working visa to do the work. It is normal.

YO
Stop trying to frighten people into using you to get a visa, people won't contact you if you are deceptive 'as is' on the internet.
