Comfortable Hotel in Shanghai?

I will be in Shanghai in November and want to stay at a comfortable, unpretentious hotel that has everything I need. Which hotels do you recommend?

Re: Comfortable Hotel in Shanghai?

What is your 'everything I need'? At what point does the room/service becomes comfortable? What rate are you prepared to pay? It's hard to say without knowing what you expect from the hotel. Try asking on a Shanghai forum, you might get mroe knowledgeable persons there.

What do you need in a hotel? If you are not in a budget, I recommend The Westin Bund Center hotel, 5 star and nice services.

Re: Comfortable Hotel in Shanghai?

Hello Sanchez1977..!!

During my visit to "Sanghai" my friend suggest me to stay in the hotel named as,"An Ting Villa Shanghai".This hotel suited my pocket,as my wallet is not so big, like others. The staff members are lways ready to help.

Their infrastructure was also great.Rooms are neat and clean.Every room is provided with attached bathroom plus private Balcony.....There are some other hotels too which are also providing good services. They are,

An Ting Villa Shanghai
| Best Western New Century Hotel Shanghai | Astor House Hotel Shanghai

If you have enough money, you can choose Hilton Hotel Shanghai.

Re: Comfortable Hotel in Shanghai?

Ocean Hotel Shanghai, a nice hotel.

Re: Comfortable Hotel in Shanghai?

Most of the Western chains in Shanghai have some very nice properties.

Park Hyatt, Jw Marriott, Peninsula, Ritz Carlton, just to name a few, are all very highly rated. Not cheap, though.

Re: Comfortable Hotel in Shanghai?

I did like the Renaissance Shanghai Yu Garden Hotel. But having to tell the lady every f.cking day which room number I am staying in, when I go to the Business Lounge was a negative point.

Heh, I know what you mean.

They do that at almost all the hotels in China, though.

Not hard to figure out why: Lots of unauthorized Chinese guests trying to sneak in the lounges. I've seen someone asked to leave almost every time I've been in one.

Of course, they argue loudly for 10 minutes every time. Can't lose that face!

True, but there are not that many people who uses the Business Lounge. And after more than a week, she ought to remember my face. The doormen and concierge did.

Ohhhh, you're talking about the business centers, fax, copying and all that? Yeah, that's odd.

Thought you meant the club lounge or executive lounge or whatever they call them.

Although, come to think of it, about half the time the business center and club lounge are in the same space.
