Z Visa refusal
Hi all!
I recently accepted a teaching job in Beijing. My employer said they would take care of work permit and work visa permit and send them to me, so I can get the visa from my embassy here. So I sent them all the relevant scanned documents (including my British passport - also have a Greek one which I didn't sent). 15-20 days later my employer replied that the visa was refused at the electronic screening step, that they did not tell him the reason, and that I have no option to appeal the decision. During those 15-20 days, I was trying to get through to the employer for different reasons, but communication was very bad, not answering emails, saying he was too busy to talk on the phone etc. This behavior made me wonder if he's saying the truth about the visa.
From the information given, does this refusal sound normal to you? (have no illness and the only thing that might be on my British criminal record, was a 1 year driving ban which ended a year ago - could this be reason for refusal?)
If it is a scam, any ideas why my documents would be useful to the employer?
If it was actually rejected, does this rejection make it pointless to apply for jobs in other cities (e.g. Tianjin, Shanghai)?
Any way possible to find out if the documents were actually submitted, and if yes, what was the reason for the refusal? I've tried the british and greek embassies but they say they have no such info on file.
Sorry about the long post, but had based everything on this job, and now I'm left in the dark with no income. Any help possible is appreciated.
Thanks!

Re: Z Visa refusal
If work as a teacher in a school, you need to get foreign expert license (if work in a company, you need to apply for work license. The authorities who issue the official documents are different).
First, the school should be qualified (not all the registered school can employ foreingers).
You, as the applicant, need to be old enough (more than 25 years old) and have at least 2 years work experience. You need to provide Bachelor degree certificate and the TEFL certificate.
As for other documents required from your side include your passport copy, resume in both English and Chinese and a copy of the health check report (it also can be done when you come to Beijing). As for non-criminal certificate, it is not required in Beijing. I know in some cities, it is required, though.
Besides those, the school need to provide other documents.
Since you didn't mention your detailed information and what you've provided, there may be many reasons which aroused the refusal.
Anyway, if you are qualified according to what I mentioned, you can try to get another job offer in Beijing or other cities.

Re: Z Visa refusal
Hi,
First, would u like to tell me what kind of the visa of yours?
Second, please check the documents u have, maybe there will be some worry with them. If u want to work in a school, u have to apply for the expert permit and residence permit as a teacher. The documents are as followed
1、ur passport(the original one)
2、Bachelor degree or above(original one)
3、At least 2 years Working experience (Original one with company's seal or the signatiure of the HRD on it, and the time showed on the Working experience letter should after the time you got the Bachelor degree )
4、Temporary Residence Registration Form in Beijing (also named Accommodation Certificate);
5、Health Check Report;
6、Your CV/Resume
7、Photo (6×2-inch, with blue or white background)
8、Age: should between 24~60 year old
U know the National Day of China is coming, the policies of the working visa application is stricter than before. Maybe this is the reason why your application is refused
Don't worry about the visa application, things are always happen and there will be some way to deal with these problems.
