Z Visa Expiring

Hi,
Here is my current situation:
- Z Visa expiring on September 31st, it's a work visa with Zhejiang University in Hangzhou.
- I moved to Beijing about 2 months ago, but I haven't registered at the local PSB. I was afraid it would change my status with my Hangzhou Z visa (which was not canceled and will expire on the 31st).
I wish to:
- Stay until December or January before I return to America. So I don't care whether my new visa is Z, F or L, as long as I can stay until then.
What are the steps that I should take? I assume Step #1 is to register at the PSB. I appreciate any feedback, thanks in advance.

Hi T,
You should register in local police, they wont change your status of current Z visa even its issued in Hangzhou.
But if you wanna stay longer, you need to either renew your current Z with a Bj employer's sponsor or change it to a one month L.
