List of Visa Agents in Hong Kong - Which One To Choose? || Applying for F / L Visa

Hi all,
I'm planning to go to Hong Kong to get my new visa. I have found several agencies listed below.
If any of you have experience with any of them, could you please tell me how did it go?

1) Japan Travel Agency, @ Tsim Sha Tsui East

2) Sunrise international, @ Wanchai

3) Forever Bright Trading Limited (FBT), @ TST East
> same day L/F $360, 4 hours $1,050

4) Everbest Photo Supplies Ltd, @ Central (under HKStreet.com)

5) Hotelinhongkong.net, @ TST East
> next day L $880, next day F $1230

Which do you recommend? I'd like to apply for the Urgent/Express service (same day or at the latest, next day).

I might stay for another 3 months here. If I get new L visa it can be extended 2 more times and if I get F visa, most of the time the extension is either not available or really expensive. Any suggestion?

If I have F visa invitation letter, will it give me better chances to get F visa, instead of L visa? or L visa still the best bet to apply from HK?

Another question, taking flight from Beijing to HK is expensive, taking train is time consuming. To save time and $, I'm planning to fly from here to Shenzhen, then take MTR/Bus/Ferry to HK. I believe some of you have had traveled from Beijing to HK through Shenzhen.
If any of you could give me any tips, insights, please let me know..

Is staying in Guest House / Hostel worth the price? Heard some horror stories, however some people said there are some decent GH/Hstl as well. As of now, decent hotels price is out of my range.

Thank you for any help!

One more thing, is there any other reliable & affordable online booking service other than ctrip & elong?
Thanks

Re: List of Visa Agents in Hong Kong - Which One To Choose? ...

I've got some experience with forever bright trading ltd. When I was doing some tourist stuff after my semester in Beijing ended I did some touring through china. They seemed quite trustworthy. The passport pictures were more expensive than they'd be if you just did it at, say a, photobooth, but other than that everything looked pretty legit. I can't comment on prices, but I really doubt they'll steal your passport or anything like that. One thing to note is that they're actually quite busy, so get there early! There was a bit of a line.

Yes, taking the train is time consuming, but I still find the quickest way to do an HK visa is to take the SLOW train to Shenzhen, it sets off around midnight and you spend two evenings on the train and get to Luo Hu about 6 in the morning just in time to have breakfast and go through to HK the moment the barrier opens so you can be sure to get a same day visa. Otherwise no matter what time you fly you will have to spend a night either in Shenzhen on HK.

Agent I always used is Shoestring Travel

shoetvl@gmail.com,shoetvl@hkstar.com

You can google them. I advise emailing or calling a couple of days before you go to check on the current regulations as they change all the time. Be sure to tell them what nationality passport you hold.

There's a reasonable hostel near NAthan Road where most of the visa agents are, about 150 HK$ a night (some rooms maybe even less). Quite friendly.

Gilgamesh, tufsoft, thanks for the info. I already prepared the pics & all documents needed.
Argh, how can I missed Shoestring Travel, heard they're quite reliable. Thanks for reminding me, tufsoft!
Heard mixed review about Cosmic Guest House, but so far it's one of the best reviewed one around that area. The cheapest room I guess is around HK220/n right now. I'll decide between the top 3 on my list. Thanks!

Thanks, nope, if I do, I would have had gotten my Z Visa & doesn't have to go through this. Z is too expensive anyway.

Re: List of Visa Agents in Hong Kong - Which One To Choose? ...

I have used forever bright trading before, they are quick & profesional. Lots of other foreigners dropping off/picking up their passports both times I went to the office.

Re: List of Visa Agents in Hong Kong - Which One To Choose? ...

I'm a little confused. If you apply for a standard single-entry L Visa in London it costs £30, and you now have to pay about a £35 admin fee which there is no way of getting out of unless going to the Edinburgh consulate to get the visa there. It takes 3 days to be processed, and in total costs £65.

I've just been on the Forever Bright Trading Limited website. It suggests that for $450 HKD (c. £35) you can get a double entry L visa in half-a-day.

Am I missing something here?
Cheers

Re: List of Visa Agents in Hong Kong - Which One To Choose? ...

Does anyone knows, which documents are needed right now to apply for a Chinese Z visa in Hongkong?

One of the visa agencies gave me a confusing list, saying I need an invitation letter adressed to the visa office (consulate) in Hongkong. And one invitation letter by my company...My company is currently issuing the invitation letter addresses to the HK visa office. But otherwise I have a work contract. Should not that be enought to prove I will work for that company?

Thanks in advance

Re: List of Visa Agents in Hong Kong - Which One To Choose? ...

If you hold business invitation letter and apply for visa in HK, you can have it done by yourself, easy and quick, as you can choose rush service, the quickest one only takes 1 working day.

Good luck.
