Why the question about nationality, does it matter very much if you are English, french, or american? And why do 50% of visa agencies and other say its impossible, and other says its possible? Guanxi?

It matters very much what your nationality is because of the reciprocal nature of foreign relations regarding visas. For example American passport holders will always have to pay way more for visas than Korean passport holders simply because it's way harder for Chinese passport holders to get American visas than Korean ones.

Definitely some visa agents have better connections than others, most are sketchy though. Personally if they don't have a proper office I wouldn't bother with them.

Low prices. They screwed me royally last year. They gave me doc so I could go to HK and extend f visa. Whole deal - about 1300. Get to HK, it's the wrong form. I had to get an L visa to get back in and that wasn't easy. I was grilled by the people in HK.

Go back to company and tell them. They then say they can change it to an f visa, but it will now cost 5000. They refused to acknowledge their 'mistake' and do it for the 1300. They insisted the form was correct. The laoban even then went to far as to call my passport and clean criminal record into question. I went to That's China, who confirmed that the form was definitely fake/not the correct one and that that particular agency shafts people on a regular basis.

Their little stunt cost me the rest of my savings, meaning I couldn't fly home for a family emergency (not all foreigners are made of cash). Ta crystal927.
