Need Help With L Visa!

I have a question concerning my L visa would appreciate any advice!

I have an L multi-entry visa good for 90 days. My 90 days run out on November 25. November 29, I am leaving for Australia. Although I could have my visa changed to extend my stay, I need to get back into China following the trip to Australia (to fly home for good on December 6), so I need to keep the multiple entries. Is there anything I can do stay the extra four days in November? If at all possible, I prefer not to take another trip out of the country (i.e. Hong Kong, Mongolia) to restart the 90 days.

Thank you!

Re: Need Help With L Visa!

You can overstay for the 4 days but there will be consequences when you leave. Most of the time it's a 500 kuai a day fine for each day overstayed. I though I could get off with a warning for overstaying two days back in about 2005 but I had to pay a fine and sign a note saying I apologized or some crap. And this was back when the rules weren't nearly as enforced as they are today.

So go ahead and stay but be prepared for the fine. Also I think there's a chance that you could be detained and/or blacklisted on re-entering although I think the latter is far more likely than the former.

It's sucks because it's only 4 days right? But rules is rules.

Re: Need Help With L Visa!

You can extend your L visa with 1 entry in Beijing. When doing it, your current multiple-entry L visa will be cancelled.

You can have it done on Nov. 17 or 18. And the new visa will be ready on Nov. 24 or 25. It is valid for 30 days calculated from the application date, i.e. till Dec. 17 or 18.
Since there is 1 entry, with which you can enter into China after your trip to Australia.

If you don't want to extend your L visa in Beijing, you have to leave before Nov. 25 (your 90-day stay expiration date) and re-enter to re-active another 90 days (make sure you ENTER BEFORE the date mentioned on your visa).

Don't overstay your visa for whatever the reason is.

Re: Need Help With L Visa!

hi,there

I think the best option for you is to extend your L visa for month with one entry time.

so you can stay in China till the time you'll go to Australia, and also you will not be punished.

if you have any question, pls feel free to tell me.

Re: Need Help With L Visa!

Hi Everyone,

Im a 20year Old South African currently living in Dubai (United Arab Emirates). I was offered a job in Beijing in the hotel industry for an internship of 1 year. After going through all sites and the hotel saying i cant apply for work visa obviously i have to go for business. I have gone to the Chinese embassy here a number of times. They are not aware of the age restriction in China for a working visa! But i asked for a L visa and they can only provide me one valid for 6 months but i can only have 2 entries, each maximum of 30 days.which means i can only be in for 2months! Is there anything else i can do to get a longer stay? Please help.. Sad
