its really been stopped?
i tried the links you posted and as I have been visiting Beijing for around 8 years and live with my bf here I don't think this kind of company package is suitable for me.
I think foreign companies can help with the visas, right?

then you can convert L visa to Z visa

Hello,

Change L visa to F visa is not available . L visa can be extend twice , each time one month . So you can be extend of your visa first . You can change your visa to F visa or working visa when you have job .

To stay longer n sort visa without leaving Beijing, you can:
1. extend your current L, only can be extended twice, each time for one month;
2. if you can find a sponsor company, you can change L to Z visa;
3. if you have family in Beijing holding Z visa, then you can change to Residence Permit as well;

Or you go out of China with F invitaiton letter to apply for F visa and come back Bj to extend it.

L to F you can extenf for six months without leaving Beijing.
Just need your passport picture and temporary accommodation at last you need to interview. The only thing is the price is dear,dont know if you want to do it.
