Dear Ladies and Gents,
i am a dutch citizen, married to a Lady from Beijing (we live in AMsterdam). After she finishes her PhD her she would like to move back to her so dearly missing CHina.
She is a Beijinger hence has a Bj Hakou and we so far, got our marriage Cert in International form which we now have to get translated and verrified by some chinese authority here in Netherlands (iguess). I guess i can get a RP for a year given the fact i m married to a CHinese citizen but not sure if i can apply for that in NL or if i ve to go to BJ PSB.
If i seek employment in China, i might encounter problems. I did not finish my degree as my family moved to Germany and i came with them and i started a professional (vocational programs they have as u can either do Uni or vocational degrees in Germany) training earning a Insurance and Finance Business degree (not academic, but u need that to work in my profession). I might start my MBA or a BSc by distance learning even having not a bachelor degree was never a problem in Europe since german vocational degrees are highly regarded and if u have like me, been in University in Ireland and UK, know the Anglo BA system, u know how basic the skill level is.
Can i still find a job with a professional degree and not a BA or do i ve to master my life in CHina on the edge of legallity. I do start my education now to get either MBA or BSc.

If you can find a company in Beijing,then we can help you apply work visa.
You don't have to worry about the bachelor degree.

I think you can find a job in beijing although you don't have the bachelor degree. Many foreigner here have job without bachelor degree.

If you want to apply for the residence permit ,you should get a job first here,as the company should provide some documents for you !

Hi thanks lads, though i guess i can apply for the residence permit based on the fact that i am married to a Beijing-er. We re legally married here in the Netherlands so i guess after getting our international marriage cert approved we ll be sound.
Only problem is the Chinese Embassy in The Hague as they re never to be reached by fon nor ever reply to emails.
seems like either me or my wife will waste another day waiting outside the embassy where 4 employees handle 100 help seekers...

You might guess that you can, but you can not. The maximum that you can get due to being married to a Chinese is a 2 year L-Visa. However, this L-Visa does not allow you to work legally in China. To work legally you have to obtain an employment license followed by an employment permit and then you can get a residence permit based on your employment permit. However, you do not qualify for an employment license since you have no Bachelor's degree and no 2 years of professional full-time work experience after obtaining the Bachelor's degree. Exceptions can be made, especially if you are to be hired for a very senior position or you have other provable skills that the Chinese labor market usually does not offer.
The people who are offer "help" in obtaining a work/residence permit without degree here are illegal agents, who would photoshop a degree, change your CV accordingly and/or bribe officials.

Thanks Schnitz, i am aware that i can get not just an L Visa but also a 1year unlimited entry spouse visa.
Besides... i ve 8 years work experience. I will not go down the route and fake a degree as i am finishing it off legally since i ve only to do some coursework which i left out due our move.
I spoke to our HR lady in SH and she said i should not worry too much. if i am in CHina and find an employer which wants to hire me they can wave the bachelor thing. Btw in the regulations for eg Guangzhou it says Bachelor OR professional qualification

having no degree won't be much of a problem if you have adequate working experience (8 years is more than adequate as long as they are full-time profesional experiences and not part-times or break time jobs) and if a decent company is willing to hire you.

Thanks for all, yeah am confident to find something. Bit pity to leave a great job behind but hey... heart does what heart has to do and i cant hope my wife will stay away from her family cause i love being in Europe. Thats me getting out of comfort zone. Anyway i ve been there a few times and learned to see behind and around the Chinese wall. Grass aint always greener away but it gives you a new perspective about your own garden.

I never had a problem finding a company to sponsor me and I do not have a degree. I dropped out because I needed to focus on making money to support my family as my baba was terminally ill.
I got sponsored easily and I think that this still is true today but, you have to find those types of companies. I have a link on a few who may be able to help you. drop me a line.
also, if you want, you can just buy it outright, but it is not cheap as money goes for bribes and documentation and such.

however, this is how it is here. and we who have been here some time know that corruption works very well. TO know China is to take part in its methods.
now maybe you do not wish to do anything to illegal however, I do not think you need to worry about it that much. it seems to be the norm and many foreigners just do it themselves or take some trips to hong kong or mongolia or even korea. however, i heard that it is not possible to pick up a Z visa from these places any longer
if you work for a living why do you kill yourself working?

Some Company need you must have BA ,coz they need use it to apply for Z visa .But Our company can do Residence Permit with Z without BA .You just tell your new company contact us .Do not worry , our company won't make fake degree. We will solve it through other way . It is legal.

If you apply for Work Permit and Residence Permit with Z visa . You must need BA and working experience for 2 years .
But if you apply for Foreign Expert Certificate and Residence Permit with Z visa , you can have qualification certification instead of it . For example , Teaching Certificate or Technician Certificate . Thx

Hi,Yes ，nowadays ,the labour boureau ask the orginal BA degree ,if u apply working visa by yourself , but in beijing ,we can help to apply without it ..
for working visa without BA Degree ,if one company regester as ur name . through this company , u can make 2 years working visa without BA Degree.. it is nomal process .

No BA, no honest working permit in Beijing. Other cities are different.
someone who made the comment about agencies is also right; be careful. It might work until the gov finds out, then you must leave IMMEDIATELY
