credit card in Beijing
Hello
does anyone recommend any decent bank accounts where a foreigner can get a credit card?
This union pay is a nightmare for online shopping and travelling!!
Is that right that you need a certain amount of cash for hsbc? How about CITI?
Does anyone have any experience with Huaxia?
Would be grateful for some advice
Best wishes
Carly

As an expat, it is extremely unlikely that you will be able to get a credit card from Hua Xia Bank. The same for CITIC Bank and Shanghai-Pudong Development Bank.
You can try China Merchants Bank, but still the chances are slim. Unless you have property or work for a major multinational, chances are slim at every bank.
You can get an HSBC Premier credit card, but you have to deposit about 500k RMB and the card is not dual currency.

Place a Deposit with ABC and get your credit card.
The amount of deposit depends upon the "limit" you are
looking for your credit card !

ABC is extremely big.
It would help if you had telephone numbers to call, which branch you did it at and other specifics to help those interested in applying.

Re: credit card in Beijing
Any branch of ABC would be able to issue a credit card against cash deposit security. In fact, any Bank in China would be able to issue a credit card where credit limit is backed by cash collateral.
Don't talk to counter Tellers - Talk to the Officer/Manager.
Try it at any Bank. It all depends upon what you have to offer.
My personal experience with Banks in China ( Bank of China, ICBC, ABC,EB,CCB,BkofComm, etc.etc.) is same.Place a term deposit - 80-90 % of deposit amount can be made available in credit card limit !
Hope this helps !

If this doesn't work you can sign up for internet banking.
With CCB I have a usb key that allows me to sign in to internet banking and also pay online at many sites. Not useful for overseas sites but its perfect for taobao and many other local sites.

Placing a Deposit with ABC to get a credit card is the easiest way for a foreigner. While I am now helping a foreigner to get a credit card through a guarantee by local beijinger. If it is ok, I will place an AD.

I hope this credit card transaction will ebgood enough to give every cardholder a good credit score. Indeed, when you get your credit checked, your credit score gets dinged. This is something that will always occur, no matter who is checking your score. Luckily, you are able to still acquire no credit check payday loans if you are in a bind. You do not have to wait for a lender to check your credit rating either. That means you can acquire the loan faster without waiting around for a decision. Your income is the only thing used to determine the loan. Get your emergency paid for, and stop stressing about every little thing else. You are able to find out more by going to No Credit Check Payday Loans.

I never had any idea on how credit card is being issued in Beijing. I guess its just the same with other countries. There could be some other agreements but the totality could just be the same. And I think for many small businesses, accepting charge cards is almost completely necessary and I guess this is applicable in Beijing. For some smaller businesses, however, the contracts required to take charge cards can cause severe issues, and a rare open-court case is bringing these agreements into question.
