Vietnam and its neibour countries trip, for advice pls
Hi everyone, I have a plan to travel to Vietname, Cambodia and the neighboring countries in about Feb 15th, and I travel alone and have to say it is my first time to travel abroad and do not have much ideas about these countries either. Here is what I intend to do: go first by train and fly back to Beijing after about a week and I do not have much budget for this trip, maybe about RMB5000, so PLEASE any freinds who have been to these places with smilar situations as mine, can share with me some ideas of how to carry out this plan. Thank you so much. Mag

Hey I was going to go to Vietnam just about the same time you are going but me and some friends found a good sale on tickets to the Philippines instead. Anyway I did some research on it and now kinda forgot most the sites I checked out. This one here seemed helpful though so I thought I'd pass it on, http://www.seat61.com/Vietnam.htm .
This might also be helpful and you can use if for all the countries you are traveling to. http://www.hostelworld.com/hostels/Vietnam
Why are you going by yourself? Do you have family there? Be safe!

It sounds cool Mag! These countries are not expensive, so if you plan well, 5000 rmb will be enough for a week. Halong Bay looks beautful. Take a cruise and see how people live on the water. You will take train ride to Guangxi first, then cross the border to Vietnam? Sounds good but take care since you will be alone. Have fun!

Hi Bajie and Nickt444, thank you so much for your info which I found them very helpful and thought you guys have made very sensable points. And yes that would be great if I coul be that lucky to get someone who have been there with some experiences to go with me,,,I like company no doubt
well but seemed at moment it would be impossible for me to get such a person
yeh I will take your suggestions and rethink of it for safety concern although the trip looks tempting. Once again, thank you very much and wish you a happy new year. Gong Xi Fa Cai, Mag

Hi Maggie are u chinese?
actuaaly I’m a chinese girl and I will go to Kuala Lampur, Cambodia and Thailand I booked the Jan 27th. And I have already made my visa..
According to ur plan I think 1 week will be too short for ur trip. For if u are chinese u have to pay about 500yuan to make the Vietnam and cambodia visas. It's really a pity to spend so much money on visa while stay there only for a week. And u mention that ur budget is not so much...
If u are foreiners...while congratulations u dont have to waste money on the visas..But I still advise u to travel in just one country if u have only a week, which is more flexible and comfortable, not to make the itinerary too tense..
And for the safety issue I think u should be very careful in Vietnam especially in the northern part for the robbery. And since u are pretty u may be cautious about the bad men during ur travel .........or just enjoy ~~~hahahha
Anyway I'm going to Cambodia soon and I have already travel alone in Korea and Thailand before if u have any problems or u want to travel with me send me private messages
Hope my advices are helpful~~
