What is the name of the sweet chinese bread? Recipe?

Do they have a name? Does anyone know a recipe for them? They are at most of the chinese buffets in the US that I have been to, usually in the dessert section. They look like small rolls, golden brown in color, usually with some sugar stuck to the outside. They are slightly crispy on the outside (perhaps deep fried? idk) and soft on the inside. They taste sweet by themselves but often come with or are next to a white frosting-like sauce that you can put on it. They are delicious and its time I found out what they are called and whether or not I can make them myself. Can anyone help?
