I don't even take the food when offered now. The smell even turns my stomach. Even with bad delays, most domestic flights clock in under four hours. I can just wait for my destination to eat. If I really am starving, I usually have a pack of Ritz crackers or raisins in my bag for the kids.
Even though I don't eat any of it now, when I used to, I found China Southern's food to be the worst and China Eastern's to be the best. (of the general badness)
Lido sandwich, salami and some crisps on the way to the airport unless its Emirates or SQ but sleeping all the way and avoiding it full stop is the winner.
At least those inflight catering offered on Chinese flights won't get you killed
The piped Kenny-G, Mr Bean videos, uneaten dinner running around and passengers going for bags as the plane approaches the airport add to the thrills though.

It's actually getting better day-by-day, still remember some 10 years ago, whenever aboard a domestic flight in China, a lot of passengers would stand up and try to get their carry-on luggage at the very second the plane touches the ground. Nowadays, only minority of passengers actually do it, and they seem to do it only while the aircraft has left the runway
It's better than a lot of European airlines, that's for sure. I think it mostly keeps a high international standard.
Once I travelled with BA, transfer in London. All 4 flights (going away and going back home), I was served exactly the same fish dish, for lunch and for dinner. One choice only and it was absolutely horrible.
If you have flown recently by this airline company, what's your comment on it? I'm gonna be flying to Malaysia, and I have the option of using China Airline or Korean Air. Of course the China is cheaper and I will fly there sooner (less transit hours), compared to Korean Air, where there will be lots of waiting around, and I do mean the entire day. It's around $30 more expensive, but I used Korean Air the last time, and they had excellent service! And great food too. I don't care for chinese food, cos I'm chinese myself and I eat it almost every day
Not just Chinese airlines,I recently went by BA from Beijing to Heathrow and something most definitely did not agree with my digestive system.By the time I arrived in London I had spent so much time on the crapper I had 'Boeing' inlaid on both butt cheeks - not fun for 9 hours!

To be honest, I just hope at least one Chinese airline can form a partnership of some sort with brands such as Starbucks etc. as what Alaska Airlines has done (report at http://www.wcarn.com/cache/news/17/17686.html) so that I don't have to put up with those way-too-watery coffee offered onboard nowadays...

I don't like Chinese food. The only good Chinese food is in the west. Does that answer your question?

I used to really like all the airline food. Now I only like China Air, all the other airline food leaves me with a pulled stomach.

To those who are interested, it looks like China Southern Airlines is rolling out new inflight meals on some flights this year...
For full details, check it out at http://www.wcarn.com/cache/news/17/17544.html (they have a few what I believe are "sample photos")...
