F-Visa extension
I know this might be a boring question with some answers already floating around... but I cannot help but wondering. And please forgive, because I am new to this 'game'.
Assuming I have a valid reason for being here and want to renew my 3-month F-Visa for another 3 or 6 months (I am about to finish a language course in another city and want to move to Beijing for an internship).
From what I read, I need to proceed to a PSB branch in Beijing 10 days before my visa expires and hand them those documents, that I would also have to provide any visa agency with.
So now my question is - why would I pay an agency to do this, if I have to come up with the same documents anyway? Is it really that troublesome to do this yourself, what am I missing here? Why are some sites still saying it is not possible to renew an F-visa, if official sites state that there is no limit to the number of applications, as long as the total duration is kept within a year? Any qualified thoughts are appreciated, I really feel like there is almost too much information out there, I don't want to feel that confused anymore

Re: F-Visa extension
As you said, if you have all documents required to renew a F visa, then you can do it by urself.
As F visa is business visa, that means you will require a company's sponsorship and this company has to be in Beijng so you can apply F visa extension in Beijng PSB.
Good luck

Re: F-Visa extension
Doing F visa extension requires a company sponsorship.
If you have a company to sponsor you and the company can provide all documents required, you can do it yourself.
While if you have any problem on preparing the documents, you can go to a visa agency for help.
Good luck!

Re: F-Visa extension
Hi , there
Welcome to Beijing !
If you have the company sponsor you , you can take with the visa application documents from your company and you , then apply for new visa by yourself . But you just can extend of your visa for 3 months . If you are looking for visa agent, you can be extended more than 3 months ,can be extend for 6 months .

Re: F-Visa extension
Thank you for the fast replies!
Now, since this seems to be an important issue, I actually have another question:
The invitation letter I received for the first visa, which I used to apply at my home country, specifically stated that I was invited to come to the school, but that they would not sponsor me. Is there a difference between schools and companies? Furthermore, I have read quite a few times now that it is mainly in Beijing that a rule on having to create a Chinese bank account with a lot of money on it is enforced, is this also the case for F-Visa extension? What if I have to renew the visa first for one internship for one month, and then again for another internship for 6 months?
Questions over questions...

Re: F-Visa extension
To extend F visa is differnt from L visa. Because F is business visa, you need to have a company in Beijing to invite you for any business visiting or events etc. so to extend it, you need company's documents. For L, tourist visa, you need the bank reference as guratee, you can withdraw your money afterwards.

Re: F-Visa extension
If you are l Visa holder, you need to provide Chinese bank account. But For F visa, company's document is a key whether you can get visa extended. Right now, it is very easy to find a visa company to help you with F visa extension, 3/6months are both available now. Or if your company can extend visa ,it would be better since you just need to pay government fee(a small amount of money) for visa extension.

Re: F-Visa extension
I've heard that Beijing is the hardest place to get a visa extension, you need to have a certain amount of money in a chinese bank account, is this right?

Re: F-Visa extension
It depends on the type of visa you are extending. The information you can find above is correct - for F-visa extensions, you do not have to show a bank statement. For L-visa on the other hand, I read (mind you: READ, I have never extended an L-visa in China myself!) countless times, that Beijing is one of the very few places actually enforcing this rule. So, what kind of visa are you planning to extend?
