I am losing faith in believing it.
Work takes majority part of my life in beijing. This city used to be romantic for me, but now, i found this city is quite gray.......
Agree with the above and add: Suzhou in the early morning is romantic, Jilin, when the trees frost on the Songhua is romantic. Urumuqi bazaar at night is romantic. Strolling Shamian island in Guangzhou is romantic.
Beijing?
Beijing is a smog-filled spitoon. It isn't romantic at all. Even places that are supposed to be romantic are overrun with people who seem to be playing "look at how we can dress up and be sophisticated and worldly"
I have one romantic memory of this city and it involved being totally alone in the Forbidden City after a snowfall.
Romance is hard to come by here. I just celebrated my anniversary this weekend...by going out of town.
8> i believe beijing is romantic,i know this city have a plenty of people , and have lots of other problems ,but i think she is romantic, i believe she is filled with all kinds of dreams, beijing has the strong cultural circumstance, maybe she is not the most romantic, but she has a little romantic at least !
the pixel of my eyes is too low, can't see the real world !
beijing is not a romantic city.
i've been in love here and it didn't mater.
the most romantic nights i've had in beiijng, i've had a roof over my head.
loud, crowded, polluted, smelly, gray.
ALL of those are, basically, your main ingredients for romance.
not nature, quiet, blue skies, stars, fresh air, privacy...
oh yeah? well, let me ask you this: shut up!
contemporary china = crouching tension, hidden anger.
whereever you go ,whatever you do,if you are romantic ,it's romantic .
Welcome to china 。I love soccer.I have a problem,is I`m still having trouble with my English. I think I ask a foreign to help me. If I don`t know how to say some things in English I can ask him. I want you to be the one.Would you?
Shenzhen? I just spent a night there. Romance is in the eye of the beholder I guess.
We book hotels based solely on swimming pools because my kids love to swim. The biggest, over the top one was at the Crowne Plaza across from the Window of the World park.
Shenzhen is kitsch overload times a billion. The hotel had a fake gondolier in a "canal" filled with giant koi. The staff had on cheesy fake straw boaters and striped t-shirts, lobby full of fake stars in a faux painted sky.
Across the street was the Eiffel tower overlooking a pyramid and a Swiss Chalet. A monorail zipped you around all these stunning attractions. It was fun for a day and of course kids couldn't get enough.
Personally, I was glad to get on to Hong Kong for the romantic part of our trip.
Starting with how they lock the bathrooms when you cross the borders because HK isn't really down with the idea of raw sewage just being dumped out randomly!
sh*t man, HK is definitely romantic. anywhere with a view of the harbour at night. any one of a huge number of excellent restaurants, bars and hotels. beaches. night markets.
even a slow ride on the tram outside of rush hour with a cheeky bottle of wine
hongkong is not romantic, nowhere is romantic beside the cold european countryside with alot of trees and house well snow too, my gosh, gonna to be excellent on christmas

Europe can indeed be romantic. So is Hong Kong. I love the harbor, the clean streets and people. It's great to walk there. I don't walk as much here because of the pollution. Great little romantic spots to have dinner.

morden city cant be romantic, just liek newyork, cant be romantic. only countryside with almost no people, romantic
Of course different people have different tastes, but you can't deny all the romantic movies shot in New York.
Skating in Rockefeller center at Christmastime? Top of the Empire State building? Anyone?
Oh, but I guess you can do all those things in miniature if you just go to Shenzhen!

New York City is the most romantic, beautiful wonderful city on earth. My heart lives and dies in New York City. There is no place on earth I would rather be at any time on any day than the Capital of the World, and I am not a native New Yorker. I am just one of those transplants that appreciates what the other side has.

Beijing is a nice city but not romantic at all.
Romantic cities have public places like parks and neighborhoods or private places like cafes and restaurants that allow people to create a romantic feeling.
In BJ, one has to stay inside to avoid the filth and noise that kill any attempt at a romantic encounter. Impossible to find the quiet and ambience needed for romance that other cities provide. You need to have severe cognitive disconnect to ignore the romance-killing environment here.
Eating take out at home is more romantic than going out. A nice quiet apartment is the place to find romance in BJ.
Of course different people have different tastes, but you can't deny all the romantic movies shot in New York.

I was lured away from there 11 years ago and now I am married to the family in China. The plans are well under way to relocate there in the near future. The house is ready but I haven't settled on a form of employment yet. I have a place to live, now I need a way to feed myself once I get there.

I've never been there myself, but certainly intend to before I check out for good. Seems like a cauldron of energy. Much like London was in decades gone by I guess.

I think Nanjing and Shanghai are very romantic. Beijing just does not live up to their stature.

A romantic city is one where you can take a stroll down lanes and not end up sloshing though pools of cooking oil and discarded chopsticks.

Shenzhen?
Nowhere are the differences between China and the west more apparent than after a train ride from HK to Shenzhen.
HK isn't "the west" obviously but the cities make for an interesting comparison of the societies that created them.

Beijing is NOT romantic. Not romantic in the least.
Even the most romantic moments of my Beijing life could have been much more romantic had I not been in Beijing.
I live next to the Gui Jie trash compactor, so maybe that's skewing my view.
