Teachers beware** of any jobs posted by a so called agent, going by the English name of 'Sophia'
her Chinese name I believe to be Yue Li although
I cannot be sure as she is a real snake in the grass
she misled me about my job location, she has taken a lot of money from me and when confronted has been extremely threatening and abusive.
she is just looking for your money and will try to obtain it by any means necessary beware she recently made off with 18,000yuan of my money.
Her email addresses I have been able to track down so far are as follows;

she works under the guise of 'Oden English' whether this is true or not I have not been able to ascertain
She seems to be operating all over china, doubtless changing her contact details in order to hoodwink more unsuspecting foreign teachers.
I say this in earnest and not through malice, in order to try and prevent any one else falling in to her nefarious practices.

@Robin - As I have said on other threads, it's very easy to come on here and simply start saying this and that about this and that employer. But without further details, you cannot expect anyone to listen to you, nor to be allowed to simply do so.
So please, further elaborate on what you have mentioned here.
In what way did she lie about the teaching location?
Under what reasoning did she take money from you?
How has she threatened you?
Have you spoken to the authorities about your 18,000Rmb?
Have you any evidence of other people being cheated by her?
Again, the more info you provide, the more people can understand, trust and learn from what you are saying.

I'd imagine it would be difficult to take it from most of us.
Did she just not pay you or did she steal it?

itd be good if there was a blacklist agent site, itd save me 90 % of the time i waste to these muppets on the phone !

DO NOT WORK FOR ODEN.... SOPHIA IS A GREASE MONKEY AND WILL MAKE EVERY DAY WORKING WITH THAT AGENCY HELL.... DON'T DO IT!! WE HAVE BEEN WITH HER FOR A YEAR AND EVERY THING IS A PROBLEM. SHE TOLD US OUR TRAINING WASN'T PAID... IT WAS... SHE WAS TRYING TO TELL US WE HAD TO PAY FOR ACCOMMODATIONS IN BEIJING... CAUSE ITS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THE CITY YOU GOING TO(WHEN OUR CONTRACT SAYS ALL ACCOMMODATIONS ARE PAID IN FULL) AND FROM THEN OUR VISAS HAVE BEEN WRONG, AND A MAJOR HASSLE... THERE ARE MANY MANY OTHER PROBLEMS ON A WEEKLY BASIS WITH HER...

Btw Chelsea, unless this Sophia repairs cars in her spare time and comes to the school with a wrench and overalls I don't think "grease monkey" means what you think it does.
Unless of course you meant to say she is a greasy little monkey...which would be lasist!

I know a Sophia at Oden- she's always been pretty cool with me. I haven't had any problems with her yet. I actually gave a few of my friends here in Beijing her number. Maybe we're talking about different Sophia's at different Odens?

My girlfriend had an agent named Sophia. She also tried to screw around with her. She told her the job was 12,000 RMB per month then during the interview she said it was 10,000. My girlfriend showed her the text she was sent indicating 12,000 and Sophia told her that it wasn't her number. My girlfriend called it on the spot and Sophia's phone rang. Then she made some lame memory excuse or something. Suffice it to say she didn't go with Sophia. Don't know if it's the same one.
